Thread: Chat freezes

I always use Chrome. When I'm in chat and try to change my status to Busy or Away, chat freezes. I have to close it and open it back up. Seems like a random issue for some users, as many other users don't have that problem at all. Possibly just has to do with using Chrome? It's done this for me for probably 6 months or more, I just haven't cared enough to report it.

It does it to me in FireFox as well. I think it is more of a problem with Flash than it is with the browser. I've complained about the problem to the author of the chat system, but aside from them claiming it isn't a problem, they also want a "renewal" fee for future upgrades. Their recent upgrades have all been complete crap, and I refuse to ask John to waste money on useless support upgrades.

It would even be worth it if they said it was fixed, but their lack of acknowledging a problem with the lack of any real improvements to the system don't warrant paying for a renewal at this time.

Actually now that you told me that, I recall that you had already mentioned all that in chat and I had just forgotten. I think I'll just deal with it

The chat has always been a little unstable in chrome for me. The only browser it runs really well in is internet explorer, which I won't use. Jman is correct, I will not pay for patchs to fix their product. They can patch it for free or I'll save the money and put it towards a new chat eventually................. anyway, that's why it isn't fixed. I'd say just use IE, but friends don't let friends use IE.
