Thread: Classifieds...

Are we going to make them private again? Like before? Right now they are open to public view.

I am very mixed on this subject, As most of you know the old nazi germany folks banned me after being here for 9 years. I was banned for calling out a moderator on some technical issues as an oversight to the board, I did this on a thread and not in PM.

I had over 30 or so positive feedbacks and only one negative, simply b/c I was banned and couldn't take car of it.

Well While I was banned I made 10 or so transactions which were all favorable in nature. I got people money orders out to those who I bought things from.

I enjoy money, I do not care who sends me the funds.

Plus there seems to be a crapload of people who browse the boards and never register.

I made all the forums "read only" for quests this time. I too have mixed feelings on allowing "guests" to view profile and sales info.

i see it like this, if they are a guest, let them look around and see what there is for sale or whatever. it may get them to join the board and get the member number even higher. if they cant view, they wont know what is there and may not take the time to sign up.

Maybe classifieds open, profiles private?

IMO, let them read all posts, keep the ring as a member only thing, and keep profiles as a member only thing. But I think one over sight is that if they can read the board, they can see the previous/freeyabb linked user profile...right?

No you have to log into the old board to see those profiles.. even when linked from here. So the "old freeyabb profile" link is really only for others that were on freeyabb.

Doesn't seem to matter, now that the requirements for a complete profile are gone most of them are nearly empty. It would be nice if everyone at least had an occupation and location listed.

I changed the classifieds to only viewable by registered members
