Stingerz Emergency Lighting by SLIC Taillights (New Night Vid)

    This entire review is IMO
This is a review of Stingerz Emergency lighting found here: SLIC Home
I was introduced to this product through their online demo video and my initial thought was, i would hate to run code in that truck.

However, when planning my new setup, i could not find affordable, low profile side lighting so i figured i would give these lights a shot. Here is my opinion:

    I ordered (in blue)
    2 x 3 led
    2 x 9 led
    2 x 24 led
I already had a sho-me led flasher so without that, this order was well within my $100 budget for side lighting (don't run code)
    Pricing: 9/10
My order arrived quickly and packaged as shown below (could have used more padding):

In the package were: the lights, as well as detailed instructions (the fact that i could figure it out without them says the install is pretty basic to begin with ), a product list, and business cards.

maybe you guys can rotate this one:

    Shipping/Shipping Cost 8/10
Removing the lights, right away i was impressed with the quality. The face of the light is a single piece of plastic which stood up to bending very well (not like truck tailgate led's which are surrounded by tubing and always leak). They have tape on three sides further expanding application options. Each end of the lights appeared to be well sealed with silicone, and i left the two 3-led modules in water for 24 hours, they did not leak. The leads were 36" as advertised, and the only gripe i have with construction is the how small the individual wires are, it makes connections a little more difficult.

    Construction 8.5/10
I was a little worried when it came time to put these on my truck, i wasn't sure how well they would stay. Because I was in my cold garage, i heated up the tape with a blow-dryer before I installed them. These lights stick where you put them! Whether it be straight or curved, plastic or metal, they are very solid once applied, and the adhesive or light head do not mind being bent. Depending on where you put them/how you follow the lines of your vehicle, these have a VERY low profile when installed.
    Application 10/10
Last but not least how bright are these? Watching their demo video, I was not too impressed with the brightness, but they are brighter in person. The 24 led strip lit up my garage the same as a 48" tailgate strip i had lying around. These are bright in numbers, and obviously the more you have/the longer the strip, the brighter they are. The 3-led strip was visible in direct sun on a steady burn from 50 feet, for what I paid i wasn't really asking for more. Definitely not bright enough to be primary warning, but they do very well at inconspicuously filling gaps in a setup with useful warning. Here is a video with one 24 led strip firing along side a pair of SOS led3s definitely not as bright, but clearly visible and it holds its own.

    Brightness 6/10
Here is my full setup with these lights included:

    Verdict:
Definitely not bright enough to be primary warning, but they do very well at inconspicuously filling gaps in a setup while providing useful warning.

    Overall rating by me:
    8.3/10
