    Hey All,

I do understand that my setup, and maybe some others around here can be viewed as excessive yes, but as previously stated it is being used responsibly, only in times of calls, and still operating the vehicle with due regard. As for the horn, only used in times of serious calls, and only when not being heeded to, you actually wont believe how many people still don't see/don't yield to the lights that are on MY truck, imagine that. Yes i also am aware that it is a courtesy light, but also Title 39:3-54.12 is also there (Failure to yield to Vol. Fire Co./First Aid/Rescue Squad Member). Also, I do understand the law/permit states only one or two lights (where spotlights would be located) are technically legal and anything above is technically illegal, but who really abides by that guideline, very few. The local PD in my town and surrounding towns haven't given any problems to any fire company member or rescue squad member for # of lights because everyone is using them responsibly and only in times of calls. Actually a local police CHIEF stated to us that he was fine with the number of lights that were going into member's POVs, as he would rather have us be seen than have some sort of accident happen. He would rather members put lights on their car than tints. Also, in this area there are many calls that happen on roadways or in residences by major roadways, and too many members in the area have been injured/killed, and visibility of the scene is important.

As a final thought, think about it, this is a forum for light whackers and people that like to have nice setups, this isnt a forum for lets see whose setup is to the letter of the law. I appreciate everyone's comments and opinions, positive or negative, but this thread was really made for "Hey check out my ride and my setup" not "Lets pick apart this guy's setup and tell everyone our opinion on the legality of every bit and piece. The most important thing when installing and operating light setups is to drive RESPONSIBLY, with DUE REGARD, not excessively over the speed limit, NOT RECKLESSLY, and be aware of what other drivers on the road will do in response to you. Having lights is a privilege granted to those who sacrifice themselves and time to help the community out and shouldn't be taken as a pass to run wild, as long as all of these points are followed and basically dont act stupid, i really dont see a problem. Give respect to get respect, on the road, with local PD, and with the general public. That's just the way i see it.

    /end rant.

thanks guys for your support, i appreciate the feedback on the setup, any questions just ask!

Sorry to quote the whole message, but I must admit I'm impressed with the way you handled situation. Kudos.
