    2010 F-450 Super Duty 4x4 Ambulance

I am taking partial credit for the installation of the lights. I reprogrammed all of the LED and I personally installed the Whelen Vertex in the parking lights.

First time posting a video in the install, I will try and get more pics up of the headlights. Just a FYI...the F450's have a dual layer headlight system...so it was a pain in the (a$$) to put in...but I think they look rather nice.

    Any suggestions, recommendations, etc...welcomed!

Thanks! I will see what I can do to get a daytime and night time video with all of the lights. I am pretty happy with them overall. They add that extra punch that we were missing in the front.

The station is rather large in some senses...we have a building inside of a building...for our offices and what not. Behind the squads is the kitchen and the fire apparatuses are on the other side. I will see if I can't get some pics up. It is a rather old station and we are in desperate need of a new one.

Great vid. All vids posted on this site of apparatus should be this way. No jerky camera movements and awesome picture quality.

With that said, the ambulance looks great. Nice slow synced flash patterns and not in any way overdone. A winner all around.

yea, i wish my dept when we purchased out 2009 F450 Utility truck we ended up buying the XL model with the sealed beam headlights and the idiots who installed our strobes installed them behind the AMBER turn signal lens.

I had to end up drilling through two layers with this one. There's an outer layer of black plastic, then less than a quarter inch in...there's the reflector that you have to drill through, also.

Thanks! I took the video with my phone. It's the Droid Bionic. Could have been a little better, but considering it took about 45 minutes to upload, I'm happy!

There's nothing more that I like less than a pair of unsynched warning lights. lol

And no damn music that is so loud and obnoxious that you cant stand listening to it...

That being said, nice job. I wish they would allow us to convert over some rigs. People just dont understand that the gain of less power drain and brightness out weighs the little more expense.

Nice job on the vertex. I would just add a headlight flasher.

Our other squad, which is a 2001 E350 has a HLF. The MFG and Ford recommended that this unit not have one
because of electrical problems associated with them and this newer type/style truck. HAW strobes were noted
for becoming too hot and there were not recommended, either. This left the LED HAW with approval from the MFG,
I installed them without any problems.

Very well done. I know some installers at a few ambulance OEM dealers would be put in their place with that work.

You should consider looking into the Whelen 900-series super-LED scene lights. Those things are very nice to have, and you don't have to worry about aiming them. They'd look great on your box here.

I love the flash patterns on the overheads! The strobe flash pattern on the outer light heads, in addition to the single flash pattern on the inner light heads work perfectly! Very reminiscent of the older strobe / halogen light bars.

So many people these days sync all of their LED light heads to the same pattern. The mixture works great! Also great job on the Vertex lights. They fill he entire turn signal lamp nicely.

Thanks! That is what I was aiming for. With the two flashers that came with the squad, they are
very limited as far as patterns are mentioned. I think it gives an almost perfect strobe and attention
grabbing mode. I, too like the Vertex. I think I really lucked out when I put them in. Lots and Lots of
    silicone was used. lol

Very nice. Just about the only thing that could improve it is putting the front on a ULF44 or another LED flasher. The lack of synchronization kills my prefrontal cortex.
