    Now for the bad

Ive read the upfitter manual 4 times, and NOWHERE anywhere does it say where to NOT drill holes

HOWEVER, im going to advise AGAINST mounting ANYTHING on the underside of the package tray. dead center of the car, at the base of the rear window there is the RFID reciever box for the Keyless entry and keyless start.

I found out the hard way where the box is.

The car all of a sudden wouldnt recognize the keyfob. So i completed the install today and took it up to the dealer. (taillight flash is going to be available on friday) to get the key fixed. well after about an hour of electronic computer trouble shooting we decide to inspect the RFID reciever.

The location is at the base of the rear window dead center of the car.

I put a self tapping screw right into the fucking thing. great. its $140 ok not so bad...

I do the right thing and Notify the Chrysler SW region Fleet General Manager. he say dont worry shit happens. he didnt even know it was mounted there. Im gonna have to take the car back and get the module installed when it arrived from Fleet.

So my beautiful completed car, is not so much anymore.

    the damn box

    becareful where you drill!

Glad the split heads are synced. Code3 makes some great products, but damn they're expensive.

Don't feel too bad about the module, I've personally had to repair a couple of fuel tanks an Ambulance upfitter drilled while fitting out Mercedes Sprinter and VW Transporter Ambulances. Best one was a brand new Sprinter with a 1/2" hole in the top of the, 100 liter!, tank.

I live in Chicago and get to see every piece of emergency equipment decked out in Code3, it's all so nice. I can't drive anywhere without oogling over the emergency vehicles.

Yeah, when I first got into the fire service, 18 years old, I drilled through the top of my gas tank. It was like a cartoon, me drilling, then stopping and sniffing, with the 2 second delay to realize what I had just done!

    Looks good!

Why did they go with a Street Appearance?

They went with a street appearance because he wanted the nice center console and wheels.
Makes the car look more upscale.

The 2011s are a beast. Fast great handleing (compared to last gen)

    A little off topic

Do you have any information on that recall for these '11 Chargers?

So I'm gonna be the asshole here and ask why you wouldn't pull the rear deck to inspect before you decided to sink some self-tappers? I mounted a stick on the rear deck of the 2011 I have now and just as previous chargers it only takes about 15 minutes to pull the rear deck!

Other than that, great job. Very clean install.

Because I had no reason to pull the carpet off the deck. Once the wingman was mounted, and even that didn't require pulling the carpet.

I've done rp something previous gen chargers and there's never been anything there and they use the same package tray panel.

Its my bad and I own up to it. But I feel that Chrysler should have warned upfitters that there's something there. That under the package tray is a prime spot for mounting stuff.

I agree about the Chrysler thing, problem is that you can never trust everything they do tell you anyways. I have found myself wanting to rush through an install and starting to be lazy and have to remind myself that it may cost me more in the end. Kudos to you for owning up to it and for posting about it so others can learn from your mistake.

Its not a recall, its a TSB with a order to correct. Dealerships will be able to take a lap top with the flash already loaded and a job code for each vehicle to the departments. Because it is not a required feature, one could not enable it, or diable it now, there is no need for a recall. Alot of dealerships wont know about it unless they sell pursuit Chargers.

As for the car done by Cory, it is a beautiful car, and that light bar is insane bright, even in direct sunlight. The fog light LED's and spits in the grill are useless, but good for show.

I have discovered thoughout the years that alot of Fleet related TSB's dont make it to All Data or Mitchels. And with this being a dealer only fix, I doubt it will be published either. Chrysler will probably send a letter to all buyers of 2011's built to a certian date. Being that the issue tagets such a small number of cars it wont be a big deal.

Cory, did you mount the cradle for the controller yet?
