    2012 F350 *Completed*

My dad recently got a new truck to replace his somewhat tired Yukon XL. 2012 Ford F350 with the 6.7L diesel.

It is an amazing truck, and we have just recently started the install on it. It is used for service calls (lockouts, jumpstarts, tire changes), in addition to pulling a car trailer and our accident response trailer.

    It currently has:

    Axixtech Commander 8-head
    4 Tomar RECT25
    4 Sound-Off Undercover HAWs (Taillights/rear work lights)

The front doesn't have anything yet, as the rear is the most important lighting for this truck at this point.

The flash patterns are very fast. The truck and install work look fantastic though!!!

Nice install. I would slow down the Rect25 on the rear. The running boards are begging for 3 surface mount Vertex. Good job keep posting vids, we all enjoy them.

Excellent setup.. Red/Amber to the rear is the way to go...

We use Nforcer LEDsticks which have very cool patterns, as I agree the Commander flashes too fast. It has probably the same pattern range than the Nforcer, if not better..

Now of course if you like it that way!!

Unfortunately, the Commander has a rather terrible selection of patterns. This was one of the few that actually looked good.

As for the RECT25s, that is the pattern that he wanted. I tried to convince him to use a slower single-flash, but he isn't a subscriber to that train of thought.

The HAWs in the taillights are definitely going to have their pattern changed. I don't much care for the current one, and it isn't really all that effective. I might even sync them up with the HAWs in the work lights up top. That will depend on whether I have time to do so.

The running boards are getting LINZ6s on them. Just 4, as I didn't think we really needed 6 down there. Especially as there is going to be a RECT14 in the front aimed to the side.

    Love it but.....

I'm a big believer that lights need to be mounted higher than the truck bed box. Low vehicles won't see the warming up close. (specifically the arrowstick)

Any way you can talk him into a headache bar and mount at least the arrowstick to that?

I won't even start on the flash patterns.... Lol!

Beautiful truck, however I agree that you should have the warning lights mounted higher on the truck so lower profile cars can see it better. Either way amazing work.

looks great! i had my arrowstick mounted there also. then i found that it was too low, and moved to to the top of the tool box with a 1" spacer. STILL wasnt as effective as it should be, finallllllly got a BACK RACK, problem solved. couldnt be happier

That is exactly what I suggested, but the toolbox mounting will have to do for now. It is very visible even in lower vehicles, but we are going to put a couple Impaxx either under the tailgate or by the license plate.

The install is at a standstill for the moment since the other lights haven't arrived yet. Hopefully all of the lights will be here within the week.

looks a little "nicer"? dont all Back Racks look the same?

this one may look "odd" to you because there is a tool box mounted on it.

Looks good! Nice amount of light in the right areas. I would only change the grill to something slower with more "on-off" time and sync them to an X. Also think you should change the intersectors to the same fast attern as the side truck box so the side would appear synced. Just my honest opinion but very tastefully done!

Wow, those rect 25's look great. Which power level are they?

  21. #21
Great install !! (Has the BACK RACK been sold away ?)

    My recommendations :

    - With 4 heads in the grille, switch to a pattern where there is no off time and always some heads illuminated (X or T/B)

    - If legal, insert some white in the front.

The Intersector set up idea is really neat !! Good work.

I guess someone has to be "that guy" here.

Why does your truck have so much red in it? Does Michigan's law allow towing companies to run amber and red both to the front and rear?

Wreckers and service vehicles can have as much red to the front and rear as is desired.

I was having issues syncing the grille lights, as they kept reverting to this pattern after turning the power off. I ran out of time to remedy the problem, so it will stay as is for the time being. Once I get time, the lights will be synced in a x pattern.

And yes, my Excursion has a Vision SLR on it.
