    Sirennet: Anderson Towing Flatbed Wrecker

Split fail much? Hate the flash pattern on the freedom as well.

My personal opinion does not reflect the opinion of others or my department.

Alot of red used for a tow truck . Here in ny red to the front is a no-no you might be able to get away with red rear facing below the roofline ... Maybe

Yea, I have seen a DPW truck down state with Blue/Amber lightbar. But I don't know what Oregon's laws are either...

I like the full bar flash on the lightbar. I've seen this pattern in person, and day or night, it is extremely effective.

I really don't mind the pattern on the lightbar. Around here, we have entirely too many outfits with full-sized LED bars with faster patterns on them more closely resembling what you'd find on a police vehicle, etc. Tow trucks with faster patterns honestly become a distraction, I'd rather see them with a nice slow attention-getting pattern.

The lightbar seems to be very effective and the "all-bar-flash" as part of the pattern breaks up the flash patterns nicely. The lights on the grill are a fail, in my opinion, same for the ones near the tail lights. Splits seem to be a better idea on paper than in reality.

Red on a tow truck is a no-no here in Virginia. Tow trucks here are allowed to use amber and that's all. Red is reserved for law enforcement, EMS, fire, and fire/EMS pov's. Blue is only allowed on law enforcement vehicles. I think it's a system that works very well.
Just because you can do something doesn't necessarily mean that you should do it.

Red and amber in any combination are allowed here in Oregon for tow companies.

Aren't those heads on the Freedom the older style? Also one of the LEDs on the first (:40 sec) Tomar looked pretty dim. I'd have loved to see a set of Whelen M7s or M9s on those mirrors ;-)

I hate the red. Why does a towtruck need anything besides amber?

I find Stewart's narration (on just about anything) irritating and inane. He simple babbles whatever falls out of his mouth, complete with redundant gobbledegook. He may be a good guy (I don't know), but I'd likely choke him out or something, sitting across the table and having to listen to that.

Oh, and the tow truck lights could be vastly better- for all the reasons already established on this site.

I believe in some states tow trucks are considered emergency vehicles.

tow trucks aren't officially emergency vehicles in Oregon, you dont "respond " with a tow truck, and you also don't tow vehicles with the warning lights on , I have seen a few of the big rig wreckers run with over heads on but even thats a rarity.

They are not old as that is a current style single row linear LED models that are the CREE LEDs. Older Whelen LEDs are the Luxeon Emitter and are not as bright as the newer CREE LEDs. The 400 linear single row are much cheaper then the double row linear LED and with the optics they look like double row. These are what are in the Towman special lightbars from what I see at AW Direct and the add in modules as well. I have 6 of these in a Freedom I added from a mini Guardian G9PA and are correct fit modules. They work well and you can get two of them for $210 from AW Direct, so your local Whelen dealer would likely be allot less.

An amber lightbar is way more than enough.

I happen to like Stuart the owner of sirennet.com. I think we all have to give him credit for putting tons of vids online. I was able to make an educated decision thanks to him on many ocasions on what light to install.

Hey, if you can do it better, do it. I agree with VolEMS - he does cater to our desire for the latest, greatest (and sometimes most expensive) toys, and for that, I thank him.
