Several things I like about this: First, the trunk lid offers a large amount of open space where graphics can be visible from the rear, unlike the CVPI. Second, I like the blue and white paint job with simple graphics, and third, I like the unusual lightbar setup. Found here.

Found another Caprice. Somehow they apparently managed to get ahold of a bunch of Whelen Patriots, but then they made the corners clear to the back. It's fine to the front, but in back it's most definitely not fine.

Alot of Departments have clear corners to the rear. Also almost all major police departments in Texas have strobes still, just tradition I guess. Also a lot of police have Opticoms like the ones you see there...

I actually prefer strobes over LEDs, but only if they're reliable, which I've heard the Patriot is not. As I understand it, the Patriot hasn't been available for a few years now, which is why I find it curious that they're using them on such a new car as the Caprice, and looking at their other cars, it doesn't look like they're recycling old bars.

They removed the Chevrolet badge which sits in the middle of the trunk lid on other Caprice PPVs. That may be why it appears to have so much room.

It's an interesting color combination and it looks good. Generally when police cars are a non-white color with white front and rear doors and a white roof I think it looks better to have the area from the A to the C pillars white as well.

Pretty low-budget job: a strobe Premier Hazard Maxim and cheap graphics on a Lumina. From here.

    Budge Cuts Anyone?

But seriously, this police car is part of the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement division... a 1994 Chevrolet Caprice Wagon.

If you're referring to the linked photos of the Hannibal Police cruisers, those are NOT Capriice PPV's. Those are Impala PPV's.

The page I linked was actually the "police car of the week" - that was a couple weeks ago. The cars in the top section of this page were the "police car of the week" at the time, and they hadn't yet been added to the page specifically for Kent. Next week, that page might have a Charger on it, or maybe an F150.

This is an active Traffic Unit Cruiser.

It is given to a Traffic Unit member (Patrolman) on a one month basis in the nicer weather.

Maybe. It's hard to tell for sure, but it looks to me like there are more than two bulbs under the dome and the PAR-46 might be mounted to the roof. Really need a closer shot to be sure.
Just because you can do something doesn't necessarily mean that you should do it.

Well the Police Caprice did have the same engine as the Corvette... That with posi-trac is what almost every cop loved.

One of our local PD's used to use the Caprice wagons instead of SUV's for some of the special units like Dive team and K-9. They would hold just as much gear as the Broncos that were also being used at the time, but were more practical for patrol use also (better gas mileage, faster, better handling)...

I LOVE Avon, Colorado Police Department's trucks. All they have are SUVs.

All were shot by me today, thanks to this very weird winter...

Philly use to have Red cars years back, and I believe Ridley use to buy in with philly for the price discount. As the years progressed, Ridley never wanted to change there color scheme due to tradition. Philly use to buy there cars red, so if they need cars for the fire department or police department, they could interchange them as needed.
