    Oldest appartus in service

Who wants to kick off this thread? Post a picture of your oldest piece of equipment in regular service. (This is not your old engine driven only in parades.)

Anyone still run a "square grill" 1990 or newer ford ambulance?

    Early 90s ford ambulance SCEMS

The first one is still a hazmat vehicle....

    Also.....

regular service meaning the same purpose it was bought for or just still used for public safety? Does it have to be front line or can it be a reserve? Does refurbishing it matter?

Wow, leave it to a moderator to want all sorts of definitions and rules.

I guess I meant the equipment is not mothballed, and can be called into service without undo effort. It must be north of the equator and larger than a breadbox. It could not have been built in a leap year...

My old rescue squad had a Dodge van like this. It was white with a Dietz beacon and was used as a light rescue. When we sold it, I remember thinking, good riddance. It sold for $500 bucks, and it was in great condition! So much for being young and dumb.

This is the oldest truck my Company runs, a 1995 E-one Typhoon. 2000gpm, 500g booster. 2 200' 1 3/4" Crosslays, 150ft 1 3/4" Rear, 250' 2 1/2" Blitz line off rear, 300' 3" on Gated Y Driveway/courtyard line, 2200' 5" Supply line. 2 50' 1 3/4" donuts on top, and a 2 piece highrise pack with 1 of 200' 1 3/4" non-kinkable hand line with smooth bore, 200' 2 1/2" line with gated-y (and adapter for smoothbore nozzle if used as handline instead). This truck is the primary LDH truck for the district, responds to all fire alarms, non-first due for structure fires, and all mutual aid calls that are non brush fires. It's a 10-man cab.

Oldest truck in the district is this 1974 Mack Aerialscope. It was bought second hand late 70s early 80s I believe from a town in Florida. It was refurbed in 2001. 75ft Tower, 6-man cab. This is the first due truck co. for all calls outside of that fire company's zoned (otherwise they role the engine).

The oldest truck that I operate on is the career engine for the district. I work on it per diem to cover shifts when there is openings so they do not go below minimum staffing. It's a 1989 I believe Mack Salisbury Engine 1500gpm, 500g booster. Primary hose operation is setup off the rear with 2 200' 1 3/4" lines with smooth bores stacked on each other and fed off a gated-y, 2000ft 3" (1000 on gated-y, 1000' on hydrant valve for forward lays), 250' 2 1/2" line on smooth bore, one crosslay of 200' 1 3/4" w/ TFT combi nozzle, has a 3 piece High-rise setup (200' 3" supply line with gated-y, 200' 2 1/2" with both gated-y and smooth boor nozzle, and 200' of 1 3/4" handline with smooth bore). has 2 100' 1 3/4" doughnut rolls up top as well. Engine is staffed with 4 FF/EMT (one or when I work 2 hazmat Techs) M-F 7a-4p, rotate through the 4 stations in town for inspection/maintenance of trucks and equipment. Respond throughout district for fire, rescue, and hazmat calls. 1 FF/EMT responds in a pickup for EMS calls that go second hit, Engine responds for EMS requested Lift Assist and CPR. Career Division operates this and a 2008 F-350 Crew Cab with enclosed plumbers body(supplies, spare parts, errands, etc.).

since these pics were taken we did a little updating of the lights:

Vector switched out with 55" Justice on Night Rider
2 Center Red flashers on front removed, Whelen 900 Super LED in Red with clear lens put in place
3 Whelen 900s Super LED Red w/ Red Lense on each side (front bumper, just behind crew door, and just to rear of last Compt Door)
2 Whelen 600s Super LED Red w/ Red Lense on rear, 1 on each side above S/T/T signals

    Possible upgrades in future
-Update rear S/T/T signals to Whelen 600 Series, add additional 600 Red each side on bottom.
-Replace Whelen Mini-bars on Cab intersection and rear with LED mini bars.

There are some beautiful trucks in here! How about this one? Our 1983 American LaFrance Century Cab with the rare Command Console. It is still in service today.

The Command Console pump panel. I think ALF only made 25-50 of these rigs.

That panel is cool. And I bet on a windy, snowy night, during a Maine winter, it really is cool.

We have 2 stations and station 2 has our oldest apparatus. From Left to right: 1982 American LeFrance a.k.a. "Frenchie" or Engine 2, 1987 GMC diesel a.k.a. Brush 2, and our 1978 International a.k.a. Tanker 2.

This is my baby. It's our Engine 1 and it's my truck. It's a 1988 Hahn.

I hope I can play too.
Our current Command Post Vehicle, until we can raise enough money in the next couple of years to buy a new one.
"Old 844" 1968 Snap-On Tools GM Panel Van with an on-board generator, AC/DC inverter, an S-ton of radios, projector, a couple of computers and printer/copier. This is currently the only non-POV vehicle in the unit.
