  • Consider the site a public venue; there is no expectation of privacy once something is posted.

  • Posts in the forums are expected to be written in English as it is the default language of our community. Be patient with those that do not speak English as their first language.
  • Posts should be clear, understandable and utilize correct grammar when possible.
  • Users agree to stay on topic and not spam via post, private message, chat, or email. Users shall not post or distribute unsolicited or off topic communications or information.
  • Users agree to post content in the correct forum sections.
  • When creating a new thread, users should provide a detailed subject and avoid using short, irrelevant or unclear subjects like; "Help me!", "Read this", "Anyone?", "What do you think?" etc.... This will also aide in attracting the proper attention from those that may be able to help.
  • Excessive posts on one subject shall be merged together. Staff cannot be responsible for sorting posts correctly. Posts merged by staff are the responsibility of the author to "clean up".
  • A thread/topic can be posted in one forum section only. If a thread is related to more than one forum, it should only be posted to a single forum in which it fits best.
  • Every thread/topic should be created in the relevant forum section and every post should be posted in the relevant thread. Irrelevant, off-topic posts and threads should not be posted.

  • Refrain from "key word spamming", or adding popular but inaccurate words to posts or titles. The content of posts should not be vastly different than the title implies. No bait and switch.
  • Formatting of messages with coloring, underlines, bold or italic, centering the text, indenting, using a different font size should be used to emphasize a small appropriate section of the post.
  • Do not TYPE MESSAGES IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. This is perceived as shouting and is not necessary.

  • Personal Accounts- Require one account per one person. Multiple accounts for one person, as well as multiple people using one account are both prohibited. A one person to one account ratio is required.
  • Business Accounts- May be allowed multiple clearly identified accounts for their various staff and departments on a case by case basis. Contact eLightbars staff for more info.
  • eLightbars will consider username changes requests on a case by case basis. Once a username change has been made, the user must post a thread advising the community of the change.

  • If the site does not appeal to you, you are expected to abandon it and never visit it again instead of insisting for a membership removal.

Etiquette, Conduct, & Professionalism
  • All messages posted within the forums should be in compliance with our site agreement, site principals and forum etiquette rules.
  • Borderline violation or exploitation of the rules, especially in the classifieds section, can be perceived as offensive by other buyers/sellers/users.
  • Members should refrain from posting messages which obviously or intentionally provoke, harass, disturb, agitate other members.
  • Posts which are found to be rude, unfriendly, disproportionately angry, ill-mannered, inappropriate, uncalled-for, gratuitous, excessively profane, disturbing, disrespectful, unjust or otherwise disruptive by administration may be moderated as deemed necessary. This shall be done only to keep the site readable, professional and on-topic.
  • Reminders or warnings from forum moderators should be discussed with staff private, not in public inside forum posts.
  • If a forum thread is closed by the site's staff for administrative reasons, a similar thread should not be started. Likewise, one shouldn't post a thread to query why it is closed, this should be brought up with a forum moderator or administrator via private message.
  • Before opening a new forum thread, users should search the forums to make sure that subject has not already been discussed. The advanced search options allow users to search for specific content types in specific sections.
  • If something is against or violates the rules, do not reply, post about it, quote it or discuss it inside the forum. Instead click "report this post" and notify forum moderators or administrators.
  • If you don't like a member in the forum, add him/her to your ignore list and never hear from them again. Refrain from following them around the forums and antagonizing.
  • If a post is missing, please look for it under "my threads/posts" before contacting staff. Threads/posts are moved and merged frequently.
  • Staff and other members are not your personal concierge service. Don't send unsolicited PMs to people asking them to help you find items. Post a thread in the appropriate wanted forum.
  • Text does not allow for body language, tone or inflection. Give others the benefit of the doubt before taking offense. Politely ask for a clarification if necessary.
  • It is considered rude to post "teaser" threads that don't offer any real information or don't deliver on promises.
  • Refrain from "which is best" or "Ford vs. Chevy" type threads. Please ask specific measurable questions vs. vague opinion requests.
