Hella HERO hideaway OE bulb replacement. Whelen HALO Reincarnated!

Oh, that's interesting. During the "off" period of the turn signal flash, the Hero brain detects it as "off" and resumes the warning function.

    Thinest, dual-mode LED?

I just saw the thread about the HEROs. Those may be a more viable option than I thought. Still, the HEROs may still not be able to accomplish what I need to accomplish. The rear bumper light is still on the table.

Hella HERO hideaway OE bulb replacement. Whelen HALO Reincarnated!

Holy crap these look awesome! If I wanted to replace my tail/brake light bulbs with this...how would they replace a dual-filament bulb (high/low power)? *Edit* 4-bulb Crown Victoria tail lights if that makes a difference

    Thinest, dual-mode LED?

Are either of those dual-mode? And, I guess I don't need the entire thing to be less than 0.75", just the lens (since I'll be making a custom mount behind the bumper).

    Thinest, dual-mode LED?

I'm trying to stay away from HAWs actually. I think HAWs/LAWs are always going to be a compromise. I have my reasons. Besides, if they can fit within the trim recess, and I tint them red, they won't look any goofier than an OEM reflector.

    Thinest, dual-mode LED?

Long-time, no-post everyone. I'm wondering if there is a dual-mode LED out there that is around 0.75" tall? I want to mount a set of lights in the trim strip recess on my Crown Vic. I'm not worried about depth because I will probably 3D print a mount so the lens will end up near flush with the...

For Sale Whelen SA314 100W siren speaker

While browsing my local junk yard for some Crown Vic parts I found this guy! $75 shipped! (or will trade for a pair of R/W 3-mode Cannons)

For Sale Compact shoulder microphone/speaker (2-pin connector)

I have one of these for sale. I bought it to use at a side gig, but they switched up radios on me and it wasn't comparable anymore. Used it once with an earpiece and it worked just perfectly. Speaker has an integrated 3.5mm earpiece jack. Connects to radio via 2-pin 2.5mm/3.5mm jack. I have no...

Wanted ISO Crown Victoria LED mirror beams

I saw those housings. I might go that route and save my pennies for some new 500 V-series 3-in-1s.

Wanted ISO Crown Victoria LED mirror beams

I am in the hunt for a set of Crown Vic LED mirror beams. Red/Red is what I need, but color doesn't matter because I can send them off to have the diodes changed from whatever they are.

    DIY arrow board?

Actually, I was just thinking about this same configuration. Still need to find a flasher slow enough (25-40 fpm)

    DIY arrow board?

Anyone ever used something like this before: https://www.waytekwire.com/item/46880/Littelfuse-02400104P-1A-MINI-Diode/ It's the form of a blade fuse, but it's a diode. Would make packaging easier because I could use off-the-shelf fuse blocks and plug the diodes in.

    DIY arrow board?

I haven't spec'd out the lights for the board yet. They'll be drop-in LED replacement units for the incandescent bulbs in there now. Your FedSig controller might work? Can you PM me with more info? I don't see why I couldn't switch on the negative side.

    DIY arrow board?

Ah crap. I should have figured there was a federal standard governing these things. It sounds like what I need to find is the controller box. With the night time dimming requirement, this is getting a bit tricky to home-brew.

    DIY arrow board?

So, I've been tasked with re-wiring an old arrow board trailer that my FD has had lying around for a while. I'm not sure if we have the original controller to the board. It sounds like we don't. Would a schematic like the attached work if I have to home-brew something? Can anyone recommend an...

Career Dept Staffing in your area

Charlotte Fire Dept. runs 4-man crews on engines, ladders, and rescues ("rescues" in Charlotte are heavy-rescue companies...ambulances are provided by MEDIC). I think HazMat companies are also 4-man crews, but they're cross-manned by another crew (if HM1 goes out on a run, then E13 is out of...

FF Jason Hensley, Triple Community FD, Morganton, NC

10/8/2017 A confirmed tornado had passed through the area and FF Hensley was assisting with debris removal on HWY 70 when an intoxicated motorist went through the scene. The motorist stuck, and killed, FF Hensley. Funeral will be Friday the 13th...

commercial chassis, custom fab...... (nah we'll use gov surplus)

Nice trucks. Lots of water. But can they pump? Hahaha. (I mean, I see the pumps, but can they match a purpose-built apparatus?)

Wide load (ex-wife jokes not included)

    Abby Normal needs smaller loads.

    My ride on set.

It would only take a couple more Blues Brothers movies to finish off the rest of the surplus. Hell, they'd probably have to start tapping into the Charger fleet too.

Close, 5x8. I use it for taking my lawn mower around. Or taking trash to the dump. Getting lumber. Etc.

    2014 Focus SE hatchback, POV

Ok, FINALLY got it all put together. (I love the coat hanger trick) (I cut the 10A line from the fuse block to the "power seats" - which I don't have - and ran it instead to a secondary fuse block. From there I power my lights, and on a separate fuse, my trailing lighting) Questions?

Mecklenburg County NC department hit by car

*EDIT* Engine 1 is out of service. The brush truck (a 2008 Ford F350) got pushed into the door of Engine 1 (a 2003 Spartan Gladiator). They still have Rescue 12: a Ford F450 walk-around; and Tanker 4: a commercial chassis tanker/pumper. So, they'll still have all their bases covered.

Mecklenburg County NC department hit by car

Cooks Community Fire & Rescue. This is the department where I got my start as a firefighter. I served there for nearly 5 years before moving out of the county. They kept their brush truck in the #1 bay on the A-B corner. I hear it's pretty heavily damaged. Their 1st out engine is in the #2...

    2014 Focus SE hatchback, POV

What I'd like to do is figure out a way to put a blinky in the side-mirror turn signal housing. Anywho, I have my approval, now I just need to find time to take out my headliner.

Actually, I disagree. I respond no differently than I drive to work. I can't (and don't) bust intersections. I don't really need people to know I'm coming, but I do need them to know they're coming up on me.

    2014 Focus SE hatchback, POV

I don't run a ton of calls. We have a pretty robust full-time crew. But when I do, it would be nice to have a smidge of lighting. I've been inspired by NCHP marked slick tops. I figure "If it works for the guys who spend 100% of their time on the road, why wouldn't it work for me?" Those...

    "Federal Signal Viper S2" knockoff

Yeah, I got everything back from Wilson (that guy is amazing). Still haven't installed yet. Dept. SOGs say I'm good, but I want to clear it with Chief first.

Official "Whacker" or "Screwed Up Install" Thread

Hey! Those are my Knockoffs I'm installing! They look promising. As mentioned above, as long as they don't set my car on fire (TIC analysis looked ok), I think I'll be pleased.
