You're right! The S50342M MX Stop/Turn/Tail Light Assembly Lower go way outboard. It's the S50296M MX Stop/Turn/Tail Light Assembly Upper W/Adapter Plate that go nearest the center:

You're right. The common name around here for that connector is simply the green plug.
