FS Smart Siren SS2000SM cable pinout & amp wiring questions

Hello everyone. I have a FS SS2000SM control head and a SS2000SM-SB amplifier. I keep reading that I need a 4pin RJ11 interface cable to run between the two, but both my amp and my control head have not 4, but 6 pin jacks. This is definitely not an RJ45, it is too wide and will not fit. Phone cable plugs in just fine. So, being a 6 pin situation, should this RJ11 (or RJ12 or RJ25 or whatever) be straight through or reversed pinout (depending on where I look, some say 4 pinout straight works fine, others say it must be reversed). Basically, I'm looking for the CORRECT information here. I'm also concerned about the wiring on the *inside* of the 12 pin siren connector on the (inside of the amp, going out). Most of the wiring colors do not match what is supposed to come out the other side of the amp through the 12 pin pigtail, and the manual is no help with the amps internal wiring going *to* the 12 pin siren harness, or the correct wiring for the 6 pin RJ11 cable. I'd really like to confirm some wiring here before I hook things up and start blowing fuses and melting things.

I'm going to upload pictures of all of this shortly once my phone charges.

Here are the photos of what is apparently a 6 pin rj11 on both the amp and control head.

And here are some photos of the wiring going from *inside* the amp into the 12 pin connector. The teeth are facing down in the photos and you are looking at the back of the plug. All the *external* 12 pin harnesses I’m finding (male side that plugs into the back of the amp) have wiring that is different in terms of placement and color in some of the positions. Is it supposed to match inside and out? I guess basically what I’m asking is, does this look right in terms of color and position of wires (factory/standard wiring) or does it look like someone’s been in there screwing around with the wiring and moving things around?

These connectors are also used for the PA300 and VISION - and they are not 100 identicaly!

In addition, the colors may differ slightly if the plugs are not original from FedSig.
The inside of your plug looks good to me!

I’m wondering if some of these are able wired for a straight pin out and others are wired for reverse. Or perhaps some just work with either. Cause I ended up getting mine to work with a reverse pin out phone cable (4wire). I also got it to work by using a modular rj12 connector. I cut up some cat5 and used 6 of the wires to wire a reverse pin out cable with 6 wires instead of just 4. That also worked. So I’m like wtf lol although perhaps the 2 outside wires on a 6 wire reverse cable I wired were just inactive, so in essence I may have been just doing the same thing as with the 4 wire. Idk. Anyone else play around with this phone cable type thing?

I’m also wondering. Has anyone programmed one of these ss2000sm control heads with the convergence software? Would I just plug the phone cable right into an Ethernet port? Or perhaps I’d need some kind of Ethernet to USB adapter to plug it into, then into the computer. Tried the Ethernet thing already. Doesn’t power up the head or detect it or anything. I’m sure there’s something I’m missing.

Update - both the 4 pin and 6 pin reverse wired rj11 cables worked. Straight pinout 4 & 6 pin cables would not. After rummaging around in all the wiring (in the amp) I felt comfortable enough with how things appeared to be wired to connect it to power and test the unit. Everything that functioned, functioned well. The rest of the features/buttons I assume are locked out or disabled. Now to figure out how to actually get this thing into programming mode or better yet, program it with a pc program. Anyone have any links to software files that may be applicable to connecting to a pc and programming the smart siren ss2000sm-sb amp/control head? Thanks in advance.

This unit must be locked. I’ve tried holding the save key and unplugging/plugging back in the control head. Nothin. Just powers up like usual and functions normally. I don’t have a mic to plug into the amp to hold the push to talk button while trying to enter programming mode...so short of buying one just to unlock the unit, is there anything else I can use to plug in there that would serve the same purpose, or is there something special about the fed sig mic? I’m thinking if I use an adapter I could maybe use a gaming headset or something else with the mic wired open? Or could I be missing something in the amp wires? Like. Does the radio rebroadcast wiring have something to do with being able to unlock the device with the mic?
Thanks in advance.
