Port Chester-Rye-Rye Brook EMS FLy Car - 77M1

Nice vehicle

I dislike the sponsorship crap on the side window. I think thats unprofessional to make it a rolling billboard

Why not? Equipment was probably donated for the vehicles, just a way to say thank you. I have seen a lot of fire/ems/police vehicles with sponsorship on them.

+1

When we started up an all volunteer ALS service in the mid-1970's, even the car was donated. We all thought that it was only appropriate to acknowledge that fact loud and clear with a sign that read, "Vehicle Courtesy of Bob Hastings Oldsmobile" on the rear of the car.

Send them a card signed by the staff at the company or take a picture of the vehicle and hang it up at the station or something with a blurb under it how it was donated. "Thank you's" and stuff like that, IMO, are not appropriate on emergency/public safety vehicles.

What about if it didn't list everyone who donated, but something more along the lines of "Donated by the community in the interest of public safety"?

I understand what you're saying, but I think I would do it, too. Better to bite the bullett on some graphics you don't really like than to not have the truck in the first place. I would try to downplay it like the other poster suggests, but he who writes the checks, makes the rules to a certain extent.

Most volunteer ambulance companies are dependent upon donations from major sponsors since they don't have the large tax based budgets of fire districts. I have absolutely no problem with them thanking the major donors on their vehicles.
