I went to the service on behalf of the ambulance service I'm with. It was a very moving event, with Native Chippewa and Catholic ceremonies performed together. It was haunting to hear the Chippewa funeral pow-wow performers do their ceremonial song right outside when the service started. When they brought Colt back out to be readied for his last ride, the ceremonial whoops and hollers from his Native brothers gave me chills. The whole community up there took this shooting hard, and they couldn't have thanked all who attended and helped mend the wounds. I am thankful to be a part of that healing process.
Godspeed, Deputy Allery. We'll take it from here.......
