Sacramento County, CA Sheriff's Deputy Danny Oliver was shot and killed today (10/24/2014).
The assailant is still at large, but believed to be in a home surrounded by LE.
Additional: Two Placer County deputies were shot by the same assailant. One of them has died and the other is expected to recover. Their names have not been released at the time I updated this.
Also shot was the driver of a car, who would not give up their vehicle, that the assailant unsuccessfully tried to carjack.
