If you are not familiar with Tecniq (http://tecniqinc.com/), they are a Michigan-based company that makes what you could call "auxiliary" lights.
They started off making "DOT" lights (turn, clearance, signal, running, brake/tail ) and related lights for trailers and cargo bodies, etc.
Over the last few years they started to get into more area/accent lights, and recently they have ventured into emergency lights (surface-mount flashing as well as scene lights) and also exterior work lights (see about half way down on their main web page).
We use lots of their "E06" lights for ceiling lights in vehicles, and installed underneath SUV tailgates, etc. They are only about 1/4" thick and simply surface mount (no switch, though, so you have to wire in a remote switch). The E06 model we buy has red and white light capability depending on which wire you power (we use a 3-position switch so the customer can switch off, red, or white light).
We also use their E10 lights, which are designed as a fire 'ground' light (has a nice bracket to under-mount it on a step), but also works exceptionally well for a pump panel light, step light, and in many other places. It's available with or without the bracket shown on the webpage. We have also used their 4" round lights (various models) for cabinet lights.
Their K90 LED Scene lights are fantastic. Nearly as bright as the Whelen Opti-Scene, but much sleeker and significantly less money, plus a lifetime warranty. We have supplied a number of departments with these with excellent results.
Most of the Tecniq products are made at their facility in the US. All of their products have a LIFETIME warranty. Most are fully waterproof and a good number are submersible.
I'd encourage you to have a look through their website. They have lots of interesting and unique lights (their newest is the step lights for aerials - spaced the same distance as the ladder rungs so you can illuminate each rung! See HERE) . They also have RGB lights which can change colour.
We are their main Canadian distributor and stock their more commonly-used lights. We have used many hundreds of their lights over the past years and all our customers really like them for all kinds of unique applications.
