Hello! I recently installed a feniex typhoon siren in my 2013 Silverado 1500. With the unit receiving power, I can only use my key fob within 15ft of the truck. When I remove the inline fuse for the siren, I am able to use my key fob 10x further. If someone has any ideas or tips, I’m all ears. Thanks!

Contact customer service but I highly doubt the siren box is transmitting any interfering RF

Where are the connections from the typhoon to the truck?

Power is running from the positive stud from the fuse box, speaker is in front of the fuse box. The wiring runs directly beside my antenna that transmits for my key fob. The siren control unit is mounted behind the back seat.

I'd be more interested in the ground. I would temporarily replace the ground by running a ground wire to the battery (this can be done outside of the truck as a temporary setup).

If that doesn't work, try the same thing with the power. Run a wire straight from the siren to the battery. I'd almost venture to guess anything running along side of that antenna is going to cause some kind of interference.

If the Typhoon and/or wiring is near the driver side B-pillar (single cab) or C-pillar (extended or crew cab), that could be the problem. With this box already against sheet metal, any other metal or RFI will probably interfere. The box pictured is the receiver. The external antenna is only for remote-start equipped models.
