Whelen 12 over 12 400 duo

Was looking for a solid red 400 when I came across this in my stock. It’s a true 400 duo. 12 over 12. 6 blue over 6 blue and 6 white over 6 white. Standard 2 pair wires out back. Dated 06/11. I’ve been dealing with 400s for over 10 years and never seen nor heard of a duo 400 except for the new Freedom IV. Don’t even know where I got from. Have a Woodway dealer in England that I’ve gotten a couple hundred from over the years. Maybe they made one? Anyone got a clue? Wondering if there’s a duo corner also. Have to go through the rest and see if there’s more. Would love to do a Freedom I duo.

Opened it up just to see what it looked like. One solid board as opposed to the standard 2 independent/separate boards.

Ok so I got an answer from Whelen these were special order for the FDNY. Were available in all colors. I’m in Nassau County next to the city so I’ll see if I can find any more.

So Whelen called back. Told me these are still available but lead time of course is months. $270 list so I’m figuring on about $150 with the county contract at the dealer. All color combinations available D, E, F, K, M except J red and blue. ? Even some green combos. Asked about corners. Told only 6x6 split color. Nothing about a 9x9. This was done with them texting one of the techs so I don’t know how accurate it is. Going to get 2 R/W. Building a 54 Rota beam with 3 rota 2 LR11 and 2 400 in front. Didn’t want to do a split R/W. This solves that. I’ll post when done. That will depend how long Whelen takes. Lol.
