Grote Beacon lights

So Grote is still producing old school revolving beacon lights that appear to be the same or very close to Federal 14 and 184 Beacons. They appear to only come with amber lens although they have some with red beacons pictured on their website. Does anyone know if there is anyone manufacturing other color lenses for these lights? Interested on clear lenses for the 4 lamp model.

Thanks!!

I reviewed the website some more. The 2 and 4 beacon models are the same size, which looks very close to the Federal Model 14 size. Anyone know if those lenses will fit these lights? What about a source on red PAR 36 bulbs? Thanks again.

I know that the Grote dome WILL fit a model 14, but I never tried reverse. It looks like it would.

I have a Red dome for one if your interested.

I did not ask about clear, but anyone looking for a blue Grote dome, which is not shown on their website, the part number is 90375, and the lead time from the factory is 4 weeks - per Grote when asked in Jan 2021. I also asked Wolo the dimension of their replacement dome (light seems similar in size to the 14 as well), and their response: outer dimension is 8 3/8 and the inner dimension is 7 5/8 the height is 5 3/8". I don't think that one will work and did not try it.

As for replacement bulbs, there are lots of places out there, but I have sourced mine through ATR lighting. They have GE 4416s in A, R, B, G, and of course C. Prices are reasonable, and I've never had a bulb damaged in shipping.

I saw those bulbs. Are they fluted like in the picture or standard spot bulbs?

Sorry, but I don't have a point of reference for that, as I have never purchased the colored bulbs - only clear ones, and only halogen.

Not to confuse the issue but 4416 bulbs are not fluted. The bulb pictured on the website does not appear to be a 4416R or 7400R, actually appears to be a 4414R which is more of a wide angle pattern such as a tractor rear red light or the old CHP rear decklights, not really suitable for rotating beacons.

That’s why I was curious if the photo was an accurate depiction of the bulb.

Grote domes will fit to Mod.14 but not in the other direction. The mod.14 domes are lower than the Grote domes.
The WOLO domes will not fit to Mod.14 beacons, the have slightly different dimensions.
