Wanted: Modern Magnet options for a Responder HD?

I have a responder HD that I would like to put magnets on. It has the carriage bolt channels so just needing to figure out what a good magnet would be. No clue what the factory # rating is and curious about alternatives like rare earth ones vs traditional. They're for a backup throw light but would still like some good holding power. I have looked on amazon a bit but figured I'd reach out to those more familiar with this light.

Hello, Jennifer! Here's mine. This is a bit barbaric as it was a quick and dirty build I needed for a project I was on, but it works. These magnets are 3" diameter all stainless discs with 5/16"-20 x 1" studs, 12x 1/2" diameter rare earth magnets arranged in a circle, and coated in rubber. On the responder HD the way I have them mounted they're actually a fight to remove from the roof. I think one could make a fullsize lightbar magnet mount with these magnets. Like I said, this was a quick and dirty build so I made some spacers to make the bottom flush, then drilled and threaded holes directly in the aluminum frame and threaded the magnet studs directly into them. I couldn't get a good shot to show the spacers so there's a crude MS paint drawing below to show how I did that. If you want to keep it all Whelen and built correctly, the low profile magnet mount kit for a Century will work. Below is a picture of one of mine off of my 23" Century but with the same larger stud magnets described above.

I forgot to link the source of the magnets. He's out of Canada and I get all of my magnets for mag mount projects from him. I also forgot to mention I converted a 24" FS Legend into mag mount with these magnets for a buddy of mine and he's never had a problem with it coming off. He's an expedient driver too! Take a look at his store, he has other sizes and configurations of rubber coated magnets as well:

ELO, thank you for sharing the source of those rare earth magnets arranges in discs. If that can hold up to West Texas gusts, it should be solid anywhere.
You're welcome! And welcome to the site! Yeah, I pretty much swap out all of the old ceramic magnets on any of my throw lights and mini bars with these neodymium ones. I've used the 2.6" ones with 6 neodymium magnets on my plastic frame Responder with no issues at all. That seller has various sizes and styles that can be used on anything from small beacons and I've used them on mini bars up to 24". They're hard to beat!

ELO, a quick question about shipping to the US. Were there any additional customs or duties fees on top of the eBay prices to get those magnets shipped to the lower 48?
I haven't ordered any from him since '24 but I don't think they fall under the current duties. I still had a few sets in varying sizes that I needed for my projects but I do need to order more. I believe Ebay is calculating it on check out but I would message them prior to purchase or request a shipping quote before paying, just to make sure.
