Signal Stat 340(AKA FS Fire Ball)

Thanks, I have some NOS F7's in blue. I am hoping to find an original in blue for it as I only have red original domes in my FB collection and thought it would look good on this Signal Stat light. I know they are hard to come by but maybe I'll get lucky one day!

Signal Stat 340(AKA FS Fire Ball)

Very nice Dan! Yours is in great shape also. I would like to source an original dark blue dome for mine, just to have something different. Chris

Signal Stat 340(AKA FS Fire Ball)

Thanks, it is in really good shape. The power cord appears to have been replaced at some point, but other than that, it is original.

Signal Stat 340(AKA FS Fire Ball)

Hello all, I just received this Signal Stat model 340 A1, or a rebadged Federal Signal Fire Ball. This version is an older model that still retained the locked base for the bulb. This light came to me with an original dark ruby red lens without the F7 molded into the top. It has been used but...

    Code 3 LP6000

So here is a Google pic, most likely from a catalog from the period of the bar to give you an idea. The LP's were very customizable depending of lens color and or filter combination and options ordered. Even if colored outer domes were ordered, alleys, take downs or different colored flashers...

    Whelen 1200D strobe in Purple

I agree that purple lights are not widely used in the funeral service, even though it makes sense. Here in Ohio I I've noticed that there has been a change from the purple magnet flags for procession vehicles to safety orange flags, at least with a few of the local funeral homes. The laws are...

    Whelen 1200D strobe in Purple

I'm sure it is safe to assume that the Purple Lens is a less common color across all the brands, at least my region. I have not come across any funeral homes using this color for their vehicles. Again it may be just my location. I like the color it produces when activated, definitely a destinct...

    Whelen 1200D strobe in Purple

So I've had this 1200D series cast base with factory mag mount for some time and it came with a blue lens. I was able to source a purple 800D lens recently and I think it's a nice addition for this old strobe. Chris

And Now For Something Completely Different.

These are the three I have. Left to right, an all blue empco model 100, a Reva model 672, and finally a Dietz model 670. Prior to my ownership, someone drilled and mounted the switch to the outer case of the 670. All still work though! My favorite is the empco in solid blue, with the Reva being...

    Thanks to a friend...

Looks very similar to this one. I may be wrong but I believe it to be this model of beacon. Just my 2 cents.

    Thanks to a friend...

To me, one looks like a FS Fire Ball II(set screw fitting in the center of the lens), and the one to the left looks like a SVP Hot Shot.

    "BEEHIVE" / "JELLYJAR" Light Thread

So I forgot I had this little guy. It is 12 volt and does flash, though not Bright by any modern standard. Made by the company Big Beam ironically enough. Chris

My action lite from 1/71. Not the best shape but functional and a glass lens.

    Most Rebadged Rotating Light

Here are my two lights, both are Peterson 756M models. The red one was made in 1991(The year I started in the fire service) and the amber is a 2008 manufacture. I have replaced the standard incandescent 1195 bulb with a halogen 795X in both lights. I think this little upgrade improves the flash...

    Most Rebadged Rotating Light

Swap out the 1195 for a 795X halogen and the flash will be even better. I have a PM 756 in red and tried it, very bright and eye catching.

    My Multnomah County Twinsonic project

Never said it was mine! It's a beautiful bar as well! Both are great examples of rare twinsonics. I would like to find one myself for the collection.

    My Multnomah County Twinsonic project

Great job on the bar. For a brief time the driver's side lens came like this one, but the red ultimately was deleted.

    Signal Stat Model 339

No doubt on having to grab it,an unusual label to be sure. Same reasoning I grabbed the light behind this thread, I haven't seen one like it before with the signal stat label. Great grab on the FB 1 strobe....

Thanks for the background, I also love the Fireball II line, neat functional lights, of their time anyway! I like the double flash in this particular one. Chris
