    This appears to be an older Q, could have the early ball and ramp clutch or the later screw clutch. I might be able to help you, can you post a picture of the clutch assembly. The crude that you see in the picture could be clutch disc material.

    One other suggestion, remove the front light housing and try to turn the rotor by hand, it should turn with very little effort.

    For the OP, just be aware that today's compact speakers do not perform well with air horn type tones that usually are in the 250-350 Hz range.     Although possible, probably not. Beside the motor shaft, the rotor would have to have the recess in the rear for the coaster bearing and the front of the rotor would have to have the machined clutch face.
