Designing a new ambulance - where to start?

How does one go about designing a new ambulance? Is there a comprehensive list of features and options? I've been in contact with Horton, Braun, PL Custom, Lifeline, Wheeled Coach and they all want to bring a demo over or have me up at their factory to look at models but I just want to look at...

    What's good for home defense?

Just a note, for most folks, it kinda becomes an addiction and you will see your firearm collection grow a bit. I used to be the only one that had one.  Now we have one for everyone in the family and then a few others. A good non-revolver handgun to start with is the Glock 19. If you don't want...

    fitness routine

I think one of the biggest things I struggled with was that you have to think of this as a permanent thing, a change to how you live your life. This is not a temporary diet or thing that you will be done with in a month or two. You will gain the weight back. I guarantee it. I did.  The most I...

    2014 Ford F550 Updated 5/4/14

I hate to be the one to tell you this but I think the chevrons are pointed the wrong way. They are supposed to point out from the center, not into the center.

Command Light - Light Towers - Thoughts on the equipment

We have a command light (I think it's a command light). We like it. When we bought our new rescue we moved it from the rescue it was replacing. Its not based in my firehouse so I don't know much about the maintenance aspect of it, however, I haven't heard much complaining about it and it has...

    Tankers(or Tenders)

My department's tankers. The Pierce Dash has all-steer. I will see if I can dig up a picture or two. We are putting together funds to replace the tank in the Peterbilt. I would recommend going with a poly tank to avoid the rust issues we are having. Basically everything behind the cab needs to...

    Brake/Tail/Turn for a 1993 Pierce Lance help!

We are trying to upgrade a 1993 Pierce Lance to LED light heads as time/money allows. We replaced the rear upper beacons with LED Micro Edges. I'm finding it a bit harder to do the Brake/Tail/Turn lights because like many, we do not have the money to outright buy the heads at current market...

    Visor LED lights

The only thing that turned me off the Code 3 version was that you can supposedly select the pattern for each light head separately. I also prefer the rectangular light heads more than the round ones. Coincidentally, I am not much of a Code 3 user so between that and a good deal I found on the...

Defrosters for your lightbar any one ever tried this or thought of it?

Seriously, if its such a big deal (I can imagine to a cop it would be more so than a volunteer who is only driving a few minutes to the station) why not just pour a little bit of windshield deicer on it? I keep a bottle next to the house to pour on the windshield if I need to speed the melting...

    Best Visor Light

I own a SOS gen3 visor light in B/B and won't be buying another light because I like it so much. That being said, I could not afford to spend close to $200 on it and I waited for a few months and it appeared here for about half that. Even at full price I think you will be satisfied with it. IMO...

    NYPD ESU 2012 E-1 truck

Nice truck. I think I read somewhere that the whale died. This may seem like an ignorant question, but why didn't they just push it back into the ocean? I realize that it is heavy and do not mean move it by hand.

Problem mixing Sound Off lights with Whelen flasher?

According to the product sheet, the light head is pulling 0.75 amps. The ULF44 is supposed to be pushing up to 5 amps per channel. I will try the connections, as the problem cannot always be reproduced. What's more, is that the other ghost rock head is working fine. There could be a problem with...

Problem mixing Sound Off lights with Whelen flasher?

So I have four white lights mounted in the front of my car (I just completed this setup). Two Sound Off Ghost Rock lights facing forward, two Sound Off LED3s facing sideways on a license plate bracket. They are set to flash against each other (LED3s are in slave mode). My set pattern is that the...
