SOS Lighting Devices? (*NOT* SoundOff Signal!)

Looks like a heavy duty little unit. I don't think there is any authorized use for amber flashing lights on aircraft though. What kind of a mount does it have? The military used a lot of amber pole mounted lights on vehicles back in the day.

I'm happy to say that my first S&W purchased new came in a blue box saying "A Bangor Punta Company," which many firearms folks thought was a period of downgrade in the quality. I always liked mine however. And they also issued us one of those awful GOEC Chemical Mace plastic dispensers. Never...

The OEM right angle siren mount is nice, but not $5000 nice.

    Thoughts on this “hack”?

For what it's worth the ones I mentioned are SAE Class 1, they are frequently used as part of Whelen's DOT packages.

    Thoughts on this “hack”?

To play devil's advocate, you already have operational amber lights as well as 4-way flashers if stopped. It's a dump truck, anyone who hits you is going to be SOL. Part of me says don't overthink this... nothing is more annoying than driving down the interstate and seeing a dump truck using...

    Hoping someone can help

That looks like an awfully robust bracket to just hold a speaker, plus the open mounting slots almost look like mounting for some type of rod or axle. Are you sure it's for a speaker?

    Rare Federal CJL Speaker/Light Base

These were pretty common back in the day, for CJ184's. Probably would have been even more common if they hadn't been eclipsed by Twinsonics. How times change.

    Impersonator or not?

When I was a teen riding in my father's carpool one day, we were all mystified how all the cars on the NJ Turnpike were pulling out of the fast lane during rush hour and we just sailed by. It was only when we got to the toll booth for the Lincoln Tunnel that we noticed the reflection of our...

Also the Cadet bulb was only 20 watts which put it at a major disadvantage with other throw lights using a 50 watt 795 bulb.

    Where Can Lighting Go Next?

Just spent a week at the Jersey shore, overnight the beach maintenance fleet goes up and down the sand raking and cleaning for the next day. Got to see a whole spectrum of cab-top warning lights: beacons, minibars, amber LED, amber/white LED, amber halogen. From 1000 - 2000 feet away, the...

    Triple K EMS Standards

The KKK spec never called for a lightbar. However, I'm not sure that windshield-mounted warning lights meet the current spec for upper-level warning devices: 3.8.2.2.1 Upper-Level Optical Warning Devices. The upper-level optical warning devices shall be mounted as high as practicable, but not...

    Federal Signal Pulsator P660 S

What is the mounting for this siren? "S" might have meant stanchion mount the way "P" meant pipe mount. For example, mounting above the windshield header of an open cab fire apparatus.

    Flash Pattern Effectiveness

If you want the helmet light for illumination, then leave it steady burn. Nothing is more distracting at night than driving a vehicle with flashing headlights, why do that to yourself on a bicycle? If it was me, I'd have a flashing red LED on the back of my helmet because that puts it up high...

Maybe a contact sensor for one of those aircraft pushback tugs? When the tug moves into position to contact the wheel assembly, it triggers the light so the driver knows to stop and hook up.

What equipment are these for: radio mic holder, and power connector

This was common back in the day, the mic clip was grounded and when the mic was in the clip, PL decode was enabled and you would only hear calls from your own agency using that PL. When you picked up the mic, PL was disabled and you got CSQ (carrier squelch) so you would hear any other...
