The older model has the bulb mounted upside down on the dome itself.

My Newly Restored Federal Signal U.S. Navy SPEC Beacon Ray **Must Look!**

I've also seen these on fleabay advertised as ship "airport" beacons for helicopter operations.

    Point Blank Alpha Elite

Never happen, too much tradition remains.

    Point Blank Alpha Elite

I wear what my employer buys for me, at this time it's Safariland's Zero-G. All vests suck as far as comfort in the heat is concerned.

    Move Over Laws

We've had it for years, it's well advertised, however most claim to be unaware.

Inventory Time!!! removing your personal equipment

We've got an annual inventory also, however we conduct our own, noting the property tag #'s attached to anything important. Policy states no equipment can be added, although it's lightly enforced.

    Photo request

I had a cheap JC Whitney teardrop melt on the dash, couldn't take the Florida heat while activated.

Michigan State police have rights to whelen/unity LED Beacon?

Neat, amp economical, however no where near the pop of a true halogen rotator in the daytime.

    Anyone have this issue?

I stop all styles of vehicle, when probable cause exists. Auction vehicle ownership in itself doesn't garner my attention.

    Roof mounted sirens

Haven't had a roof speaker since 2003, when the Lumina was retired. Don't miss the racket, however my current Impala's speaker is smothered behind the bumper cover.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol, OCFD, and Tow Truck on scene of accidents

Where the f*ck are the wreckers on the rotation list responding from? Here, you want to be on the rotation list, you have to be on scene within 30 minutes of the request, hardly a need for code 3 operation.

What happens when you pull up on an incident out of state?

Where are you people driving, that you frequently encounter incidents requiring any type of intervention? Virtually all citizens are cell phone equipped, so help is undoubtedly on the way. MYOB, don't add to the chaos, and be a looky lou, do what I do, get the hell on down the road.

    Any idea what these are/were

S&W, notorious for cracking end caps, although hardly an issue with this specimen.

I assumed this post was in reference to a member.

Unmarked Police Cars on TV and their Dashlights

Streets of San Francisco, red Vitalite thrown on the roof.

    Sireno Condors again...

    Looks like individually powered rotators-

Yesterdays MAJOR incident at Mexican border that nobody knows about.

If there'd of been 2 hippies protesting immigration reform at the line, a media circus would of ensued.

    Radar dash brackets?

Nice site, now if they only sold a weather radar, so I could join the ranks of watchers & spotters.

Anyone have problems with the traction control on 2012 Impala?

On my '07, every once in awhile, I'd get a "stabilitrak initializing" message, for no good reason. On my current '12, the dealer gave me a data recorder to plug into the OBD connector to diagnose an intermittent shifting issue. When ever it was connected, every 5 minutes the car would chime...

    "Storm Chaser" with siren?

Any jackass with a cell phone can call the local news and "spot" a tornado. No need for blinkies or sy-reens, watching & spotting are merely a lame excuse to claim a need for such equipment. However, I'm all for the debris field falling on their heads, or possibly crashing into each other as...

Just picked up this Code 3 (Security?) bar. GREEN / AMBER

Half green/amber is the current statute requirement for security lighting in Florida.

Yes, one should strive to not let the magic smoke out of the box.

    The end of an era.....

If only there was a hemispherical bulb, then the wobble could be simulated.

    NYPD Traffic Rumbler?

Ahh, the traditional white undershirt. Looks classy when it pokes out around the sleeves of the uniform.

    NFL bans armed OD LEO's

Fortunately, I have no desire to spend anything on the NFL, and it's overpaid leather air bladder handlers.

New FHP Cruisers now more safe and hideous

I like it. The tail light on the Dodge is so distinctive at night, it kills any chance at being sneaky, so what's a few more reflective surfaces? As I'm standing on the side of the road at night, I'd like to be as visible as possible, although I'm hoping someone from Colorado will relocate...

    Dome ID's

I'll guess Tripp lite MR-3 on the blue. The early domes had the bulb socket mounted upside down on the flat spot of the dome, the later had the socket right side up, like yours. http://www.triliteinc.com/products/assets/mr3-12hb-L.jpg
