What are your 5 Favorite Speakers?

And yet ALL siren manufacturers claim 122dB... It is also important to note that the dB is a logarithmic measurement, i.e. not linear. A 3dB increase in SPL is a doubling of the power.

    Whelen Cantrol programmers group

I wonder if we could start a mini-group for Whelen Cantrol owners and help each other out with programming and exploring the features of this versatile system. Not all of us have the benefit of attending Whelen's course in CT to learn the ins and outs, nor do we have a Cantrol certified dealer...

    From OVERKILL

Bought a new Whelen Cantrol system from OVERKILL. Arrived super fast, communication was excellent, would not hesitate to recommend! Great ELBer!

$1200ish. You need to REALLY want one.

What are your 5 Favorite Speakers?

TS100, SA315, SA314. Only three since that's all I'm familiar with. Those Sho-Me slims are positively atrocious. I had two that you could stand in front of running a full 200 watts and not need to cover your ears.

    Wanted Whelen Cantrol

Contact ELB member OVERKILL, I just bought one from him although he only has the CANCTL3 controllers with the master emerg button. Any Cencom/HHS controller that connects via Ethernet will work however so you can always buy one separately.

    Wanted Whelen Cantrol system

Title says it all. Looking for a complete Cantrol system and MUST include software. Dealers welcome but you must be comfortable selling JUST the system, AND shipping to Canada. Will pay fair market value for one. Please PM, thanks.

VW Golf Alltrack Fire Command Vehicle

I have to admit it's amusing watching you dweebs bitch about European lighting as if you somehow know better what their needs are. Go look up what it takes to get a driver's license in Germany and perhaps you will gain an understanding of why they don't require 50,000 lights and 2,000 watts of...

    Legacy vs Liberty help please!

Nothing wrong with the Liberty, it's still a very capable bar. However having seen Legacies in action I can confidently say you lose nothing by upgrading. I'm a big proponent of lighting footprint but the Legacy is very impressive.

Wow, no wonder Martinshorns cost so much

I was fortunate enough to buy a 2297GM from Retired1. The sound is musical. The ones in the video are the new 2298GM compressors which are supposed to be lighter in weight.

Wow, no wonder Martinshorns cost so much

Neat video showing them being made. There's another on Youtube showing a lot of hand crafting operations which now look to be superseded by CNC production. Elaborate and intricate and made with care in Germany, not mass produced with Chinese electronics. I like how the acoustic chamber shows a...

    Support Classifieds suggestion

Thank you. This has plagued my search for equipment for many years here as you may click an ad for something you want, wade through the chaff, possibly no picture accompanying it, and finally discover its the wrong color for you. With luck there is a solution built into the board software that's...

    Support Classifieds suggestion

I find it difficult to wade through the items for sale that I cannot use because they are simply the WRONG COLOR. Is it possible to add an icon or color somehow to the sales threads so we know at a glance if we should click the link or not? Alternatively, posters should be required to post the...

    Support Classifieds Posting suggestion

A very simple solution which works great on another board I frequent - just disable replies except for the original author to bump. I agree fully that the amount of chaff in sales threads is getting ludicrous. It unnecessarily bumps pointless posts to the top and disadvantages everyone else...

Thanks I'll check it out. No as I don't think it's reasonable to pursue a post that's nearly two years old. People bump old threads and get attacked over it so why would I do the same? If you're confident they're still in his possession I'll shoot him a PM.

Lighting suggestions - 2015 Sierra Denali

Hold on, I just looked at my roofline. Where the hell do the lightbar straps go?? Hard to see in your picture but I'm guessing the two channels that have the black plastic strip running the length of them? Think I'll stick with a "headache" bar at the back of the cab. Just simpler overall.

Lighting suggestions - 2015 Sierra Denali

Very nice work. Do you mind sharing a bit more on how this was done, ie. work involved in dropping the headliner, where you mounted the equipment, what to watch for with the brake light, etc.

    Whats draining my battery?

I had constant battery drain issues with a WeCan lightbar and HHS2200. Had to boost the truck at least two dozen times in the winter. It would not manifest itself in warm weather. Put a battery blanket on the battery and wired it in with the block heater, never had a drain issue again. They work.

Lighting suggestions - 2015 Sierra Denali

I have a Viair compressor and 5 gallon tank that could be installed for my Grover 1510 but I don't think I want to get that involved. My upfitter says just to get the front grille off is a minimum of four hours labor never mind any equipment to be installed. Wanted to do a Cantrol system but...

    2014 3500 Silverado- Chemical Response/ SWPS Install

My upfitter said the first time they did the new Silverado (1500) it took them THREE HOURS just to remove the grill. Apparently they are not very upfitter friendly. $4,000 just for the installation of everything sounds about right.

Whelen Super Bright LED Work Lights Pair, SXWLLED New in the Box Sold

No, there is no difference between the two aside from their position in the bar. TDs go in the front, WLs go in the rear. I have both in my Liberty and they're identical.
