For Sale “Custom Shrouds” MPower/Silverado mount

Incredibly well engineered and 3D printed mount accommodates mounting of two 4” SoundOff MPowers on each side of the rear spoiler of current model GM pickup trucks. Attaches with VHB tape. The rear glass on these trucks is deeply tinted limiting rear lighting options. These place the lights...

fd in process of switching from low band to high band

Technically, a 700/800 <MHz system is not "high band" just so you don't get too confused. Using actually 800 MHz 2-way radios require that they be registered on the the system, which may have additional costs. 800 MHz trunking scanners are expensive as noted above. They are also very...

    Mount Rushmore of lightbar systems

The Twin Beacon Ray deserves more than and honorable mention in that it was the first synchronized lightbar, and therefore the foundation for the later Federal bars. I couldn't agree more with Maxim's comments about par 36 (or 46) sealed beam effectiveness. While I am a huge Whelen strobe and...

What Would Be A Suitable Light For The Back Of An E-Bike?

Be sure to check voltage. My "Rad" ebike is 48V. I'd need to rig a step-down transforer of some kind to get it down to a usable voltage. I believe some automotive LEDs range from 10-30V.

    Site News What Matters?

For whatever its worth, John and the others involved in this site have provided a valuable service for many years. This is THE definitive place to go for technical information, especially for vintage equipment. I hate the infighting that occurs here and elsewhere. Thats not what its about. We...

Relay wiring diagram to switch ground with switched hot

Im trying to activate the functions of a Federal MS400U siren (which uses switched ground for each function), with a switched hot circuit. Could someone please advise where each wire would go on a relay so that when the hot switch is energized, the relay outputs a switched ground signal? Thank...

Long term use of Model 14 beacons

The Model 14 used tp come with thick rubber washers to add between the beacon and the roof. There was also a copper band that was used to keep ground consistent above and below the rubber washer. They also included a whitish push-pull switch. Awesome light.

    Liberty 2 Sync?

Apparently the LC IO board in my Libby 2 was an earlier version that lacked any DIP switches. It was not capable of syncing the heads, and even using scanlock required that each pair be separated to change patterns. The tech support guy shipped me out a new I/O board that includes 4 DIP...

    Liberty 2 Sync?

Whelen tech support says it is likely a I/O board issue and they’re sending me a new one under warranty. Apparently the next generation has that capability. Will advise. Thanks

    21 Tahoe PPV Lightbar Fit

I just put a 54” on a ‘21 2500HD and it’s almost too long. It is the recommended length to keep the bar low to the roof and reduce possible wind noise. I had a 49” on my last Silverado and I liked the look better but it did have some noise and sat high.

    Unity spotlight advice

This has to be an age-old problem but I just can’t seem to beat it. I have a maybe 2-year old Unity pillar post spotlight. How do I prevent it from freezing up in the winter preventing adjustment? I have not forced it and damaged the gears. Should I take the cap off at the end of the shaft and...

    Beacon identification and questions

That would work, just the motor and bulbs are voltage specific. The dome will also fit on the 17 series beacons. Very nice light
