    AMR Whelen Edge 9000

I saw this post a few days too late! I just dug out my Edge 9000 AMR bar this past weekend so I can rehab it. Mine specifically is off an old AMR NYC bus that SeniorCare EMS bought, and that I worked on for a couple years, until the bus was decommissioned, and I convinced the company to sell the...

    Green lollipop?

The only people who use green in NY State are volunteer EMS. With that being said, I've never seen anything like this anywhere before.

Updated FOR SALE post! I've dropped prices and added a BUNCH of new collectible lights and sirens. I have videos for everything, which I will provide upon request, and are viewable on my YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/doranduh/videos). All prices are negotiable, no trades, and...

    Junkyard haul......again

I agree, but you could probably use a Twin as a park bench without having to worry much lol. But I agree, great haul and a great price!

    Strange code 3 XL

Not necessarily. Once Code 3 started coming out with all their features and options in the 80s, they'd cram nearly anything you wanted into a lightbar, if you specified it. The likelihood of it being factory isn't high, but I wouldn't say it's zero percent.

    Strange code 3 XL

Those Stingrays (NOT Select Alert) look like they need their contacts cleaned so they work better. Super simple fix, you just unclip the two Y-shaped wires from either side of the rotator shaft gear, give them a good wipe down, and clip them back on. Always works for me. Stingrays are really...

    Whelen 994

I have a 994 with the closer-grouped bulb holders, and I honestly prefer this style. Great looking beacon!

Code 3 Mini SD with "select alert", kinda

Dude, you posted the picture of Oswego, NY FD's old Engine 1 (yellow E-One engine with the XL on front). I didn't know anybody knew about that truck, and it was put out of service like 15 years ago. I always thought it was weird that they used mini Aeros on the roof, but used a short XL on the...

My Project: Construction of a Ford Crown Victoria in the style of the FDNY / Fleet Service Division

As far as I understand, I believe the majority of the 175-H had red in the tilted bulb holders, and Signal Stat 374s had tilted red/amber bulbs only when mounted as a single beacon, and were 4 horizontal red/white bulbs when mounted on cross bars and smaller applications, like scooters and such...

Responder mini lightbars, collect them all

Wow, I thought it was just the PAR 36 strobe and then the 4x3 strobe, now I know just how many editions there are beyond that. I also didn't know that Whelen actually called the version with the strobe in the middle the "Respond-A-Strobe," I kinda thought that's just something we as a collecting...

    First one in the Wild

I've seen these used as ad lights for businesses more than I've seen them used for building warning. Very cool to see regardless, though. They're very effective lights.

Federal Signal Firehawk with dome cutouts

Could you post pictures of how you mounted your J30 supply? I'm going to do a similar thing in one of my NFPA Firehawks, but I'd like to see optimal mounting beforehand.

    AdvantEdge find

I have something like 6 AdvantEdges, including two 6-foot FireMaster bars, and I love all of them. They're easily some of my favorite bars that Whelen has ever made.

Signal Stat Nypd beacon 374 help

I'd buy that regardless of whether or not it's NYPD, because those domes are impossible to find. NYPD Signal Stat beacons had some sort of electronic solenoid between the beacon and the wiring to cut down on radio interference from the lights. Regular Signal Stat beacons are directly wired. I...

Wanted Streethawk Directional Strobe Tubes Part # Z8107A127B

I'm looking for 2 Federal Signal "Directional" Strobe tubes with the bayonet-style base, part # Z8107A127B to be used with the J30 power supply in the secondary lights of Streethawk lightbars. Picture attached is from Pete L.

    Malfunctioning Code 3/Force 4 Stingray

I fixed it already! Turns out the entire reflector was loose from the gear! I spent some time smooshing it back together, and now it works good as new!

    Malfunctioning Code 3/Force 4 Stingray

So one of my Force 4 Stingrays in my LP bar is malfunctioning, and I’m stumped. Of the three functions, the rotating function works fine, but the slow rear sweep and fast front sweep are all over the place. The weirdest part is that, if I tilt the bar forwards or backwards, the functions begin...

    Code 3 Stinger Problem

Do you have pictures of the one that isn't working? Also, if you're unable to locate a replacement motor after you've exhausted all your options, @Skulldigger does an excellent job restoring them.
