Trying to see how I can add the Outer Edge to a Whelen Carbide that has a WeCan lightbar and a 16 output module currently connected. Don't have the Outer Edge yet, but all the install documents have multiple wires, not just a WeCan connector.

So, I'm looking at adding an Outer Edge and for the life of me looking at install sheets I have no idea how to wire it to WeCan and program it in Command. I mean, it's pretty simple to use the pinouts and add them to an output module, but if it's WeCan compatible there must be a better way?

Quebec has an interesting approach, every highway response vehicle (DOT, provincial police, commercial transport enforcement) must be equipped with a very large LED arrow. They've had them for years, and are motorized. I've seen them a few times and it's pretty effective.

I'm very curious about that. You need to use a RFID card everytime you want to use the lights, or am I getting this wrong?

The "sending to installer" part is what worries me with Cantrol, is it the same with WC? Anyone that has played with the Cantrol WC software can compare functionality with Carbide software, given I'm not a programmer and I've never even seen the Cantrol WC software? I'd go with the full keypad...

Seriously, is it even possible for an individual or a department to purchase the CanTrol system and program it themselves? Or Whelen specifically prohibits individuals from using it in order to make money by forcing people to have a Whelen rep to do the programming?
