Whelen IONs Dodge Charger rear deck

Has anyone mounted IONs with the standard brackets to the rear deck of a Charger? Any tips to get them close to the window and still be able to screw them down?

    2017 Charger DRL flasher

I've seen videos of the DRL/Parking light ring flashing with different patterns. Can a flasher be tapped into these without backfeed issues?

    Options for unmarked Charger

Again, thanks much. I am sold on the Brooking ES6 at this point. And I agree completely on the simple wig/wag patterns. Our guys hate our flash patterns, if that tells you anything... "Why can't we be like the highway patrol and be seen", and yes the HP uses seizure patterns. Our last 2012...

    Options for unmarked Charger

Thanks for the in depth reply! This is what I was looking for. I am leaning toward the small lightheads against the headliner. As mentioned, they will hardly ever use them as they won't want to burn these cars, so flashback really shouldn't be a big concern. I am also leaning toward the idea...

    Options for unmarked Charger

We need to equip two 2015 Chargers for our drug guys. These will need to be as stealthy as possible. Radio antennas will be done in a factory looking shark fin. Headlights and brake lights will wig/wag but I will need blue to the front and rear. Looking for the smallest profile visor lights for...

Anderson County TN Sheriff 2017 Interceptor Utility

I too think I prefer Mode 2 or Mode 1 night than mode 1. I'm not sure why I didn't make them all the same, I just didn't catch it and don't want to go back and change every vehicle. It's not as bad in person. The camera can't quite catch the flashing so it is more attention grabbing than...

They surprisingly are. The Micropulse lights are pretty impressive.

Anderson County TN Sheriff 2017 Interceptor Utility

I haven't taken any pictures yet, but here is a video of one our new Utilities. All Federal Signal with SSP2000, Integrity lightbar, and Micropulse perimeter lighting (all flashed by the SSP). The lightbar has ambient sensors and the vehicle changes flash patterns and automatically dims...

SSP3000 Smart Siren upgrades, Aug 2015

The amp has to be the B revision and has to be flashed too.

No worries! I racked my brain trying to figure this out. Bugs aren't always bad. :-)

National Park Service 2016 Ford PIU

Right, I should clarify and say, it couldn't be done without adding external relays and introducing more points of failure. Something I'm not a fan of.

    Interceptor Utility Dimmer Circuit

Does anyone know how the dimmer output in the 14 pin connector works? Is it variable voltage from the dash dimmer or just a 12 volt signal when parking lights are on?

    2015 PIU TLF

If you want them to alternate, there is the Brookings FL-20FiU. It is plug and play, has an auxiliary 12 volt control wire that will pause your other rear lighting when brakes are applied. Www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDIj4D0tzGM ERM is also working on one, although release has been delayed.

    Federal Signal Valor Trouble Shooting

Most people aren't using the interface module anymore. It was pretty popular before the SmartSiren Platinum came out, but was a huge PITA. Now most of us use the Platinum and just program the lightbar with the software.

    Federal Signal Valor Trouble Shooting

Depending on how old you could be experiencing some firmware issues, and believe me there were quite a few. I would check on getting a new control board for the bar if you can't get the erratic behavior to stop. But first off, try resetting the control board via the instructions here...

    SmartSirens- new vs. old

Mainly, tactile feedback. When you press it, you know it's pressed. The old rubber buttons were a guessing game as sometimes they beeped, sometimes they didn't Additionally, buttons can be moved around and configured vs the old where everything was where it was like it or not.

    SmartSirens- new vs. old

More relays/outputs (a couple low/high selectable), inputs added, better keypad, external fuses and wiring, timers, convergence ports, diagnostic LEDs(on 3000), PA mic jack on keypad instead of amp... I'm sure I missed something, but that's a majority.

Right... All of these features and options were basically useless until Cantrol/Blueprint came along letting the smart vehicle do the work while the dumb cop just does what he's always done. :) Our department uses Federal and I can't do half of this stuff.

SSP3000 Smart Siren upgrades, Aug 2015

They have added the two wire Signalmaster function. It's listed under the Signalmaster button for the Latitude. It uses 2 of the 4 2 amp relays. As far as anything more than that, nothing yet. Hopefully they are working on conditional based switching/inputs. Why did they ever decide it was a...

2016 Interceptor Utility Rear Lights/Install Question

How much access/clearance is there into the hatch? If I wanted to mount some recessed IONS just above the black strip (see image), is there enough depth and access there? My opinion is this is the middle ground and allows for two lights instead of doing tw o on the spoiler and two near the...

2016 Pursuit Utility LED Insert Options

    2005 Ford F-150 - - FINAL UPDATE (being retired)

Still no reply. :-( It's killing me to know how the steady signalmaster is done since there's no option for it in the SSP. Is it just a non sae warn pattern?

    Steady Flicker 75 pattern

I'd like to know where this is coming from. I first saw it discussed in Storms truck thread. It's listed in the Smartsiren Platinum programming options, but only for the external relay 4 channel module that shipped with the PA300-CN. I'm wondering if that's where it started circulating.

    2005 Ford F-150 - - FINAL UPDATE (being retired)

I'm familiar with Whelen. Our department uses FedSig and I'm not aware of a steady flicker pattern with them. They've got some catching up to do when it comes to this stuff. The other 3 are starting to leave them behind.
