They went to the Federal PA300 and then switched to the SmartSiren when they went to Vista lightbars.

    PA-15a Director Siren assitance needed

I like these sirens. We had these when I started with the highway patrol in 1990.

What's the worst lightbar made by a well-known company? (FedSig, Code 3, Whelen)

LOL. When I was a police officer back in 1989 we had a car with a Yankee lightbar. Sometimes the drivers side rotator would stop turning and I'd have to reach out the window and smack the side of the lightbar to get it to spin again.

What's the worst lightbar made by a well-known company? (FedSig, Code 3, Whelen)

Federal Signal Vista lightbar. When I was a state trooper, I never understood why we went from the Whelen lightbars to the heavy bulky Vista's that were larger and heavier than the Whelen's.

    RESOLVED Moderator approval

Thanks Tony. I'm sure we all appreciate the work load that's been placed on you and Dave F addressing the issues that have popped up with people trying to post. Especially when you were having to delete double posts. Thankfully that's been fixed.

I posted a message and it says it's awaiting moderator approval. Just seeing if it was that forum, or specific to me.

    Is eLightbars dying out?

As someone who's owned a site for over 20 years, I know that this site should earn enough from Google adsense to pay for itself. And for anyone that's curious, Jman isn't allowed to share those numbers. It's a Google policy violation. So don't think he's hiding anything. A good host will offer...

    LEO Question

A slobbering drunk that constantly kept asking me what he was under arrest for. I finally just named different crimes every time he asked. He killed Kennedy and Jimmy Hoffa.....

    Is eLightbars dying out?

Someone's going to have to. I added a forum to the site I've been working on, but my site is more about older police cars and vintage emergency lighting. https://code3garage.com/forum/index.php There's more to it than just a forum.

tsquale collection thread! Updated video page 4, post 152 - 11/09/2023

You definitely have a diverse collection of lights. :) There's a bunch in there I'd like to have. The S&W bar jumped out at me. In the late 80's I was a security guard and drove a Chevy Caprice with an all amber S&W lightbar with sealed beam flashers and internal alley lights. I'd snag one up...

    Is eLightbars dying out?

I've been a member here for 11-years. Nothing against ELB or the staff here, but I set up a new forum. https://code3garage.com/forum/index.php Everyone is welcome to take a look. I've owned and ran another forum for over 20 years, and the technical problems here just frustrate me sometimes. I...

    Open Dispute.

Ever had a lightbar project with so many issues that you gutted it and started fresh? I've owned a large forum for over 20-years and it's still going. Forums are only as good as it's members. There are a lot of images and pdf files missing from posts in this forum, but it's still a good...

    Lighted 'State Trooper' visor

Back in 1990 the Ohio State Highway Patrol had a fully marked silver Ford Crown Victoria that had red & blue high beam headlights instead of the standard Federal Jetsonic lightbar. It also had a visor cover that said 'State Trooper' that lit up (and other lights). This car wasn't used for...

    What was your first?

When I started with the Geneva on The Lake Ohio Police Department in 1989, they had a Ford LTD Crown Vic just like this that they got from the state. Even came with the Yankee 911 lightbar because the OSHP had switched to Federal Signal Jetsonics. GOTL simply added their logo to the door. You...

    Support Intermittent site not available

I just experienced it again. This is most likely being caused by mod_security or some type of firewall protection on the server. It can be turned off by whoever has access to the servers admin panel such as Plesk.

I received an error yesterday when I tried to post a reply, so I clicked it again and ended up double posting. I saw another double post, so I'm guessing someone else probably was experiencing the same thing.

    Is eLightbars dying out?

I've seen this happen when forums switch from vbulletin to xenforo. Either the photos don't get imported, or you can't import photos from a gallery. Usually the photos are still stored in a folder with a weird numbered file structure, but there's no real way to link them to a discussion, or...

    Is eLightbars dying out?

I fully agree. I've owned a website for over 20-years, and I've seen websites and groups come and go. Many people have migrated to facebook. Especially the younger generations. I don't like facebook. I believe in privately owned forums. Plus it's easier to follow conversations in a forum than...

    Ohio ''Hostage lights"

Yes, definitely an OSP bar. I'd buy the blue gem light (hostage light) if I could. I need one. They did have inboard strobes. The rotators and strobes were wired separately, so you could have just rotators, or just strobes firing if you wanted. The takedown light had a rocker switch that when...

    Ohio ''Hostage lights"

No. The lights are removed from one car and put on a new one. I think it's just a property number. I picked up another OSP Yankee a couple of months ago in Ohio. It's missing its hostage light and needs new lenses and end caps.

My personal off duty traffic control Crown Vic

I see so many of these privately owned vehicles with all the construction on 121 up here in Grapevine TX. I like the lightbar flash pattern. I personally think having one side of the lightbar lighting up at a time is more attention getting then the whole thing being lit up.
