Well I went back and the light was gone. I did find a 174 with a plastic lens and no bulbs. Really the flea market is now a ghost town. Not many vendors are here now and probably the few that are left may not open. The picking was thin this year.

I found a CJ184 in clear with speaker in it yesterday afternoon. Might go pick it up even though o am more into light bars. If someone is interested i am willing to help out.

I am here now. Been here since yesterday. Have not seen anything much yet for lights. If I snag something I will post. Saturday the flea market this out Friday afternoon and is a ghost town by Saturday afternoon. As all vendors have to vacate by Sunday morning.

Real nice grab. I have one with res/clear candycane lenses. I was on one of our ambulances and then to the rescue truck. Agreed on the unlimited patterns you can do with it.

AS requested by Mars Light here are the pictures of the interior of the light. Both sides are pretty clean except for the belt dust and the compressed lens gaskets. Are the gaskets and belts still available? Something else I noticed during the testing was the both sides would rotate well then...

Nice save there. These have been one of my favorites since I got in the fire department in the late 80's. The XL series have been on the majority of the apparatus I have been involved with.

I will try to et interior pictures soon. You are correct Doran this one is in good shape considering the life it led both the physical placement and the environment of our weater and streets. 

I did not get the twin to this one that had the rears of the lenses blacked out. I think that truck was sold out of the country. Thinking of borrowing the blues out of my first light bar from when I first gt in the fire service. A Twinsonic.... Also thought about finding or making some greens...

Nice find there. I picked up 2 last year at a local flea market for $10 for the pair. One blue and one green. The green one had the cord cut short. I had one when I got in the VFD.

Please be advised this is not a Part 90 certified Public Safety radio. It is a 2m (144-148mhz) radio with the full 136-174mhz receive. The pricing is also higher then a new version of this radio (TM-281A) with the full factory warranty. The TM-271/281 are good radios, just not for the P/S sector.

I saw those myself but other family duties called harder. I also found a NIB Aero Model 25 with the selectable flash pattern in amber. Asking $500 with mounts. You did good on the Twin and Aero. Glad they went to a good home.

Negative on both. When I was active I lived in Madison County. Now I am in Oneida County. I regularly go to this yard and scout around for "light gold". I have some more on my radar that I need to try and save from the crusher. Stay tuned the is a part 3 coming. Just don't Know when yet. :D...

the high speed was at the passengers side rotator and just looks funny at the time. I have a handful of the high speed gears. Might do the two center ones or do thee whole light including the intersection lights.

Made another trip to my favorite junk yard today and came home with an ambulance spec. MX7000. Also got a Vista with a built in arrowstick. The MX had one high speed rotator and a 1157 bulb. Did some scrounging and found a standard gear and S795 bulb and all is good. The lens have 170K miles...

Just another $.02 worth. After some motion sickness pills I noticed he must not be talking with anyone improtant with that radio. It is an obsolete wideband Moto GM300. Unless the rest of his "team" is on FRS/GRMS. Hopfully not near the PS frquencies or the HAM band. :duh: :nono:

Nice Christmas presents there. The Model 25 has some age on it with the sealed beam rotators. I might have some parts form when my dad converted his to indenpentant rotators. I also have a set of N.I.B. amber lenses too. :thumbsup:

I grabbed the radio to save it from the crusher too. It is a 100w UHF that I will hold on to. Myself and a few friends are "smoked" HAMS and that could be their next repeater. Stay tuned as there may be more following me home at sometime. ;)
