What is a Work Light? As in, I have accumulated several Federal Signal SW300 and 400 switch boxes, and most have one switch labeled "Work Lights" along with the usual Rotators, Fashers, Take Downs, Left Alley and Right Alley. I'm stumped.
Thanks for the encouragement! Based on that, I'll start taking one down for cleaning and lubrication. It mostly peals off but very stubborn in a few spots. I think that stuff is actually some sort of clear adhesive or caulk. Maybe intended as weatherproof or to hold the endcaps onto the...
Here's a good look at What I have to work with One big question at the moment is, whats the deal with this almost clear rubbery sealant or glue stuff everywhere? Shouldn't I just get rid of all of it, even if things start coming apart?
My daughter found two AeroDynics on a local (Chicago area) buy / sell / trade Facebook page and bought them for me because she knows I like this stuff. One is a 24 EAH, the other a 24 MEAH. Neither are junk, but both need work to display well. They have plenty going for them so I think it'll...
I may have the names wrong but I believe those 90 degree oscillating lights were designated "DynaRays". One or two can be placed in the center bay and they came in a fast and slow versions, adjustable for a left, center or right arc. They were mounted in any position a rotator could be...
Right, except the real SW400 only has four rockers. I guess bottom line is the box I have does more stuff than the light bar does, adding in this case the ability to run the rotators without the flashers by using the rocker instead of the slide. No worries!
Thanks again! You've successfully zeroed out my concern that I've overlooked something obvious. I'll just go ahead and rig it to function exactly as labeled in my picture.
Thanks for taking time to answer! I'm looking for a manual in PDF format; I'd just like to have one on hand. Regarding the switch box, I'm trying to confirm whether the box I have is set up the way it should be for the MX7000 I have. If it is, that's good. Just wondering whether the...
I have an MX-7000 in my modest collection and I've got it set up to work with the pictured Code 3 branded switch box. Both are unaltered from factory setup as far as I know. I can't seem to find a manual for the switch box, any help there would be greatly appreciated. For now though, I have...
Pete, you may recall you sold me several sets of sweeps a few years ago. Were those "second generation"? I ask because I also discovered there are two different moldings of bases as among the (I think) ten StreetHawks I've accumulated. All are black. The two versions of sweeps are not...
Noe, it does not. At least not the three I've overhauled. StreetHawks have a single cable with all the wires bundled inside. Vistas have a cable for power and separate cable for ground; a third cable if set up with a Signal Master.
I'm hunting for a terminal block for a Signalmaster controller, Model 331105. To be clear, this would be the piece that's removable, not the part that's attached to the controller. It should be orange in color, with 15 pins.
Thank you, sir. Upon further review we indeed find the loose wire I swear was not loose during my initial check. I blame my wife and her incessant vacuuming.
The pride of my modest collection has gone wonky. Federal Signal Vision, was working perfectly a few weeks ago. Yesterday I turn on its power supply, the usual spin-up of rotators to home, and nothing normal after that. Lots of random and patterns in the little red lights and faint beeps from...
Sorry, yes, the mounts are missing. Power leads are present and the alley light cutouts in the domes are there. The bar is overall in pretty good shape, everything works fine and ready to detail. It's property marked City of Moultrie, Georgia. I picked it up in Kenosha, Wisconsin and hauled...
Thanks for sharing those pictures! I've been working on one for a while now, and it's working out well other than it's missing alley lights. I've had a hard time even finding a picture of one until now. Would you have any idea where one might find one or two of those things?
I've resurrected several Streethawks and they are indeed simple designs. Circuit boards are to scary for me! From what I can see in your pictures yours is all there, but will sure benefit from a 100% complete disassembly, diligent cleaning (hot soapy water) and reassembly. Note how the...
