    Dietz 9-51 deck lights CHP

Sorry for the bump but I feel like you have the knowledge to help. I’m working on a 1968 Ford Galaxie with the intention of restoring it as an old patrol car. I have two NOS Dietz 9-51 housings with red and amber lamps that I would like to put in the rear window like your display here. What is...

1970's Unity Spotlight Models CHP / NHP

Could anyone tell me which model spotlight and mounting hardware the California or Nevada Highway Patrol would have used on the 1973 Dodge Polara's? Thanks, -A.M.

Federal Signal, Signal Stat, Misc. Collection

It does have a good sound to it, every now and then I'll annoy the neighbors a bit. I plan on putting it in a 1968 Ford Custom for parades and car shows.

Federal Signal, Signal Stat, Misc. Collection

Never got around to adding some pictures of my collection. Just a few miscellaneous pieces I’ve stumbled across and acquired. I’m not too sure what the bar is, the label is pretty roached but it looks like it said Signal Stat. A few old Signal Stat lollipops, Federal flash balls, Yankee and...

Estate FlashBall Find / Help Identify

Thanks, I’ve never seen anything like it before so I knew it was different. I’ll try to find some old NOPD guys and ask about it.

Estate FlashBall Find / Help Identify

Recently found some goodies for cheap at a sale. A Federal Signal Flash Ball in excellent condition, a roughly used Fed Sig Fireball with a Flash Ball plate and spare red dome. Thought I’d ask for help on identifying the last one; it’s a handheld light with a cigar plug and has electromagnets...

    Federal Interceptor PA20 wail malfunction

Thanks, the document I found was the Fed Sig manual for the series 2E. I found another one for the series 2B so I’m guessing there’s not much different between it and the 2C. I’ll take a look at that capacitor.

    Federal Interceptor PA20 wail malfunction

Hello All! I’ve recently purchased a PA20 series 2C Interceptor that makes a chirping sound when Wail is selected. The other tones and manual work well though. I found an owners manual for a series 2E with a malfunction diagnosis for a chirping Yelp, would the diagnosis for the Wail be the same...

    Vintage CHP Lights Help

Thank you for the info! I figured many things would be rare, expensive, or hard to find. I may be able to fabricate something simple to replicate that control head, a few pieces of sheet metal, toggle switches, and a steady hand with a paint brush might save some money ha!

    Vintage CHP Lights Help

Thank you, would you happen to know also if there was a specific control head for the lights or was it just on a toggle switch fabricated by the shop mechanics?

    Vintage CHP Lights Help

I was looking for some help regarding 1968-1972 California Highway Patrol emergency lights. I understand well the CA law and tradition of the solid front facing red and flashing amber to the rear. Does anyone happen to know what style lights CHP used in the back window? I was looking to remake a...
