    Wanted 174 SUPER BEACON skirt

To remove the dome, remove the three screws that are around side of the skirt. Lift the skirt upwards and the dome will be free. Be very careful, the gasket is probably stuck, and when you pull upwards you do not want that dome to fly up, fall and break.

Wanted Looking for Siren Motor Bearings

The shaft has a taper where it sits in the bearing. I found a bearing the same size but not tapered and it fits to tight in the housing. I have to back the rear adjusting bearing out almost all the way for it to be loose enough to spin.

Wanted Looking for Siren Motor Bearings

Looking for a front bearing for a Sireno motor. It is 1/2" dia and 7/32 tall. The ID fits a 3/16' shaft. What makes this one difficult to find is that it is a tapered inside bearing as you can see in the photographs. Anyone have a Sireno or similar parts motor? or know of a...

    Stephenson L20

I did some research and put together brief history of Banger Punta, S&W and Stephenson, that will explain these lights and branding. I suspect that lights branded S&W, that we know of no other rebranding, was manufactured by Stephenson while others were rebranded. Banger Punta was created in...

    Stephenson L20

@stansdds Who made the S&W L-11 Pancakes? The closest is the SVP, but the S&W is definitely nicer made lights.

    Stephenson L20

Never heard of Stephenson until today. Just picked up this Stephenson L20 that has seen very little use. Tag is faded as most tags are, but the light is in nearly mint condition. Dome has some dust and what looks like possibly some paint overspray on the top, probably from sitting in someone's...

    Federal Junior 15 Question

Does anyone know why some Junior Beacon Rays have different size spacers that align the Lens Holder to the bulb filament? Some have 1/2' spacers and some have 5/16" spacers. The shorter spacers cause the light so shine downward slightly if using the appropriate bulb. The dates are just to...

    Earliest electronic siren

@tsquale Well here is a 1961 description that includes a Fyr-Fyter Penetrator Siren. Could be jobbers were rebranded and sold under different names or companies.

    Earliest electronic siren

@tsquale Yep, was able to find this June 1958 ad which shows the controller better. Looks like a match to yours. This one says Electronic Engineering Enterprises of Scottsdale, Arizona.

    Earliest electronic siren

The first siren may be the Penetrator that was advertised as the world's first transistor siren. It is not clear who the manufacturer is, but it was sold by George F. Cake Co., who sold equipment.

    1922-23 Sireno No 3 Siren

Just completed this display for my recently acquired Sireno No. 3. Replaced the front bearing and adjusted the rear one. Built a display stand for it and wired it to fit into my wall display. Nice piece of history. Video coming soon to my Youtube channel. Skulldigger.

    Federal Model 15A Junior

I just picked this up at a really good deal. I like getting them like this and restoring them. The light works great, good motor, just some cosmetic issues. Nice clean glass dome. It is a 15A so it originally was a permanent mount. Someone must have added the magnetic plate later. The light...

    Federal 17D

I just picked up this Federal Model 17D manufactured in November 1971. Itr was mounted on a 1972 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Ambulance/Hearse. It is in great shape. Mounted it on a leveling board since it has a cut base and placed it next to my 174 that came off of a Superior Coach and has the...

Smith & Wesson Model 436H Beacon

I picked it up today and it is certainly an interesting beacon. I was happy to see the dome is marked S&W, SAE-W3-78. The motor is dated June 2, 1980. I was thinking the bulb cage looks Signal Stat. the motor housing looks like most others, Deitz, Signal Stat as well as Yankee. Looking...

Smith & Wesson Model 436H Beacon

Picking this up tomorrow from a friend. It's a 4 bulb beacon. Other than the tag being faded it's in great shape. Any information on it is appreciated. It has a W3 of 1978. I have seen other S&W that looked like a Dietz 211, but this looks like a large 4 bulb Model 14.

Anyone recognize what this beacon is?

You mean just a flat washer sized down to fit in the space?
