Those smooth Fireball II strobes are the same 'FSC11' lense the halogen rotating model uses. They have an internal fluted insert to dissipate the flash.

This is a hard question to answer (for me) because while I'm not a big fan of their halogen revolving lights, I've never used their LED products but hear they're very good. I don't think it would be fair to rate them based solely on the one or two halogen products I'm familiar with.

That's a great collection of multi-colored 1166's. Only one you're missing is PURPLE. Although this color didn't come out until later on, it is a genuine S.O. VP lens. Don't know if they're still available though.

I would imagine clear-domed teardrop lights might be used in conjunction with other colored teardrop lights, such as in a permanent mount installation. Mind you, I've never seen a multi-teardrop installation but aside from that I don't know what else a clear lens teardrop would be used for...

The Vitalite models you have are my favorite version (ones without a metal frame overhead). Personally, I think the ones you have look nicer versus the metal framed version.

Join the club. Was just telling dmathieu the only clear Fire Ball lenses I've ever seen are HIS. Clear lenses are rare for the SVP-1166 but are uber-rare for the Fire Ball.
