Wanted: Modern “Shuffle” T/A control head

I have a feeling this is going to be a difficult find. In the mid 90’s, Code3 had an arrow stick control head that had a “shuffle” button on the far right hand side. It had a red slide switch on the left that had “off, left, center out, and right”. I haven’t seen a “shuffle” control head for many, many years. It was a neat set up, as the PD where I was an explorer set their arrow sticks up to be amber, blue alternating lenses. When you’d push “shuffle” the lightbar would, well- shuffle. So it showed amber, blue, amber, blue alternating. Does anyone have a “shuffle” control head available for purchase?

It took some time for me to find the correct thread. Credit to @Benno for his post, which includes these images of one style of ArrowStik controller and its patterns:

The 'shuffle' pattern you describe seems to be unique to the flash button on the oldest, positive-side switching ArrowStik controllers.

Yes! Thank you! This is the control head I remember. Granted, I was a teenager, but I could swear that “flash” button actually read “shuffle”…. Maybe my brain made that up though. Either way- I’m looking for a control head like this that can do that pattern regardless of if it says “flash” or “shuffle.” Thanks for finding this!

If the controller is positive side, but the arrowstik in the bar is negatively sided, can they work together? My brain isn’t computing.

If it's for the MX you just picked up, that one won't work properly without rewiring the bar. The arrow in that bar has the heads wired in pairs with independent ends. It is isolated from the rest of the bar so you can use positive or negative switched 5 head controller.

On a positive note, you can hook up an alternating flasher to create a single pattern that you like. Let me know if you would like any more info or help with that.

Just made 2 quick videos of an arrow. The first video, I just made a couple of patterns with an FA3 alternating flasher. The fist pattern is probably the closest to the one you are seeking.

The 2nd video shows the patterns of a Code 3 controller. This is the deluxe version so it has fast and dim but the patterns are still the same as the standard controller.
