There's one chase scene that I think is in the original "Gone in 60 Seconds" that shows a unmarked unit with one of those rectangular halogen lights like you would usually see bumper-mounted, where that steady-burn red light was mounted up by the mirror like you see a lot of LED lights nowadays.  I don't know what kind of halogen bulb was in that light, but it was bright!
