I have seen a guy make his HID high beams on a 2010 Escalade wig wag they are crazy bright. I was told they can burn out.

Ya that is super dangerous and just asking for a huge repair bill those are not cheap to replace, especially the ballast.

+1 -the ballast is NOT made to :"do" a constant on/off

He has it for quite some time now and it hasnt had any problems yet. The wig wags are very bright and move traffic . The Escalade is the only HID wig wag I have seen so far. I guess if he can afford a new Escalade every 2 years and pay for a nice install he can afford to put in new HID's if they burn out. He just ordered 3 Tomar High power 200s to put on his roof rack to maintain the slick top apearence. Ill try to post some pics when the lights are added.

Thank you guys for all the compliments, really appreciate it. The slimlighter's mount actually looked lower than it actually is, its not that bad.

The roofrack light really helped as the substitute for where the wigwag's gonna be, it really worked out much better than if it would be on a headlight. The high position really grabs people attention.

Hows that phantom working on a mag mount antenna base. I've always used a hole mount to the roof, so its base makes contact with the roof of the vehicle. Looks a little hookey, but if it works and the owner is happy....ok.

The installer wanted to drill holes into the roof, but i requested not to to prevent any leaks etc. So what he did was simply use the magnetic bracket, and added 3M double sided tape. Ran the wire into the gab between the rear light housing and the body, and run the wire using the factory cable hose.

.
the install is clean, and the car looks good,

my only beef with this install is that the roof lights are washing out the visor lights. I would add some lighting in the grill, or suction a dash light at the bottom center of the windshield.

The rear looks good, a little LAW never killed anyone ;)

Nice vid . I would put 2 grille lights .

Yeah i was thinking of the same thing, but our local law doesnt require 360 degree warning coverage. Plus the car wont be responding to any emergencies, its used mainly for escorting government convoys, there will be marked units clearing traffic infront anyways. Incase of low profile incognito, the warnings are more than sufficient.

Thank you for the gracious comments, kudos to the installer, i just provide them with the gadgets :D

I am extremely interested in the slimlighters in the windshield. I see they are mounted with suction cups but how is the flashback shield mounted and what is it fabricated from? I would love to do something similar with my setup. Could you give any more info? Thanks...

The shield is black acrylic, cut to fit, and the edges that touches the windshield are fitted with a rubber list. I dont know what its called, its easily found in most hardware store i guess. The acrylic is mounted with a 3M double sided tape. We later added the metal mounting bracket to support the slimlighter after the suction cup keep failing in hot weather.

Nice ride.

I agree about the lack of mid-level lightning. Even if your laws don't require 360 viz, a couple grille Xtreme 4 in blue/white would work wonders... ;)

That siren control looks incredible! How long did it take you from start to finish?

Looks good. Might wanna add something to the sides though. And I do like the wig-wag with the roof lights, those aren't something you see on any American cars...

These have LED headlights, flashing those is perfectly fine.

Thank you sir. Whole thing took around 3-4 hours, including installs (just the siren). I wasnt the one doing the install, and unfortunately have no knowledge of any of the technical details :)
