Here are a few pics of two new Harley Davidson Electra Glides that we just got in and outfitted. Our city mechanic did most of the work, but I went in a few days and helped him out a bit to try and get them done before the riding season ends. The two 2011 HD's replaced a 2005 Electra Glide and 2005 Road King. Unfortunately, it was my Electra Glide that got replaced, but I got shafted and ended up with a 2007 Road King. Sgt. said something about having only been on motors 3 months and doesn't want me to wreck it. pfft. So the two older motor guys got them. But I still have my own bike, and get paid to ride, so I don't complain.

We LINZ6'd the crap out of these things.

So the new ones are equipped with all Whelen. Standard HD siren and PA

Front:

Whelen HD Front Array w/ 5 LINZ6's in RBRBR

Whelen Vertex White in Headlight

Whelen PAR36s in RB

Whelen 500 LIN6 in RB at 45 degrees on the front motor guard.

Pair of LINZ6's on each side of the front fender (4 total)

Rear:

Whelen 700 Super LEDs in Split R/B on each side and rear of trunk box.

Pair of LINZ6's on rear of each saddlebag (4 to rear total). The rears aren't shown because they weren't installed at the time of the photos due to bracket availability.

Pair of LINZ6's on each hside of the saddlebag. All rears are set to sync in crossfire pattern.

All LINZ6 pairs are RED over BLUE or vice versa depending on their location.

I'll get pictures of the finals bikes with new decals and everything on them later this week.

opskmallory, nice bikes! I like those a lot more than Laytons BMW's with the code3 setups. I think Laytons are terribly lit with TIR style heads and nothing linear. And only a handful of LED's to boot, definitely lacking the warning power that your bikes have.

Love the HD install. Have you seen the new radion boxes with M4's on them, and do the rear blue lights flash or they are just reflectors.

the small blue lights near the plate are ID lights only. Think of them as always on cruise lights.

Yeah, not a fan of BMW's lighting. It's all done from the BMW dealerships. UHP and Cottonwoood Heights has the same setup, and I don't care for it one bit. Cedar City has Hondas with Sound Off Predator lighting. It's all TIR, but at least there's is a lot of it.

Blue lights are just cruise lights with a little incandascent bulb in them. LVMPD has some pretty bright blue LED's in theirs that looks good and is really visible. I might try and look into them for us. The new boxes with the M4's are very nice. We did a demo with one and was impressed, especially with the various flash patterns. Our boxes were given to us and a local body shop repainted them for us, then we added our own 700's series. But they don't sync. And that makes me sad.

It's a California thing, CHP started doing it and everyone else caught on...

I have never seen a police bike with a radar unit installed on it! Im not sure if thats a regular occuring thing in the States but its definitely not common in Canada!

So was there going to be anymore lighting to the rear except for that one lonely 700 series LED? Seems to be more than adequate lighting except to the rear... Just my 0.02.

There are 2 LINZ6's stacked on each side of the back of the saddle bags in addition to the 700's. The setup is very effective.
