I just completed our new Chief's truck a few weeks ago and finally got around to taking some pics.  It was a PITA because of course, the Yukon came with a center console/rear A/C controls that had to be removed and/or relocated to make way for the Troy console.  Almost all equipment was remounted from a 2007 Tahoe.

List of equipment:

-Whelen Inner Edge

-Whelen Mirror Beams

-Front pushbumper: Whelen wde angle Ions and Whelen Pioneer Nanos on a PFLASH

-Sides: Whelen dual Talons

-Rear: Whelen dual Talons, Whelen wide angle Ions, Whelen perimeter light on a STT flasher that comes steady on with backup lights

-Unitrol Touchmaster Delta

-Go-Light Stryker

-A slew of radios/scanners

Some notes: Vehicle was strictly Chief's choice - including the black color.  I know that people will hate on the vertical Ions in the rear, however I am VERY impressed with the off-axis visibility... Perhaps because they're wide angle? Don't judge until you see them in person.  Mirror Beams and Pioneer Nanos are sync'ed for your viewing pleasure.

Looks great.

Just to confirm...is this the new dept-owned chief slicktop/take-home vehicle, or is the new POV of the chief? I'm guessing dept-owned, but I would've gone with a Tahoe PPV instead of a Yukon for a lot of reasons if this is the dept's

  • The Yukon is a township vehicle, I would have LOVED to have gotten a PPV/SSV Tahoe, however this was on the lot and ready to go.  Chief thought he needed the Z71 suspension and all the fancy doodads, however all those fancy doodads made installation of some things difficult.  A TON of work went into it, but I'm pretty happy with the result.

  • I agree that the Go-Light sucks... Chief's request! Also, he loves the fast wig wag...

Lol, not gonna lie, but your chief looks like a wannabe fed...black slicktop Yukon, blinkies, & setina? Darien (Conn) has an all-black chief's PPV with blue/red blinkies all over and (although it's sexy as s#@t) I don't think fire dept vehicles should be pitch black like that

you could always remount the Go Light to the push bumper on the same level as the Nanos...I know it will be only 180 degrees of usefulness....just a thought.
