Hey everyone! I haven't been on here in quite a while, but I figured with my new vehicle and my new build I'd hop on and post a a bit of it! So here's currently the only photo I've got of the truck for now.

I'll be a Whelen Carbide build.

On hand for the build I have,
Whelen Carbide
Kenwood TK-790 Remote head with antenna and other parts.
2 Rigid Ignite lights for extra reverse/rear scene lighting.

On the way are,
2 Whelen Avenger2 Duo's R/W with headliner brackets
2 Ion Duo's R/W
2 Ion Solo's R with license plate bracket

Other things I'm thinking about or planning for,
Jumper cables with a quick connect mounted to the bumper
Onboard Air system.

Still have a few things I need to get or find but it's coming along.

Nice truck. I def think it calls for a HLF, some side warning (side facing ion T Minis or 3” mpowers by fog lights, intersectors under mirrors, pair of ion T’s on running board) & a rear headliner light stick (ie duo color RTX).

If you really want it to stand out, when budget permits, add another pair of ion duos on each side of the ford grill logo (2 on each side of the ford logo) to essentially make a 4 head grill lightstick for the center slot of the grill

Why the need for jumpers & onboard air....do u do roadside service as a side job?

Sadly I can't do a HLF per Maine lighting laws. This is just the base to get me to be able to respond with lights in my truck, I've got plans for at least a set of LINSV2 on each mirror, 2 Ions or T Ions on the running board, and possibly some sort of arrow stick.

On most trucks I've owned I've had some sort of pre wired jumper cable set just for simplicity sake. The options with the Anderson powerpole connectors are pretty wide, I've build winch setups with them for trucks, trailers, and even an Argo. The onboard air is more just because I can. I had considered an airhorn just for fun.

A lot of the things I do are overkill for what I respond with but this is my side business, so I use my vehicles to market to a wide variety of people, I do assist a friend of mine by being an escort/ chase truck when he's hauling oversized loads, however there's no amber being built into this truck as of yet. Going to use a back rack and a detachable mount for a mini bar for when amber is required.

Gotcha. I would definitely do the T ions for the side warning (instead of regular surface mount ions), because the T ions have linear optics, while the standard ion is a TIR that has poor off axis.

For the rear, if you stick with Whelen, you have the option of the duo color RST on the interior rear headliner or the duo color traffic advisor mounted to the headache rack on the exterior....both give you the option of having a dual color lightstick flash warning color (ie red) with amber TA override. Wecan allows you to independently control colors.

Maybe get a Feniex fusion duo color minibar, because then you’ll have the option to independently control the amber mode & red mode, thus you can leave the lightbar there perm mounted to the headache rack for emergency use and escort use

Good note on the T Ion. Thanks for that! I'll probably be doing something exteriorly mounted on my headache rack when the time comes. My amber set up will most likely be a Fusion Mini, I sell Feniex through my business so it'll be the best and most cost effective for what I'll be using it for. Not sure if it'll be red and amber yet though, I cant technically run a red light bar in Maine as they're for chiefs only. However I was offered the EMS Chief spot the other day and need to wait for tomorrow to see what'll happen with that.

Playing around with the Carbide a little bit tonight. Still waiting on my lights and a couple other odds and ends to show up then it’s time for the install!

Why are you worried about having HLF’s you are already in violation of the law. If your going to violate a little why stop go big or go home

2) The municipal officers or a municipal official designated by the municipal officers, with the approval of the fire chief, may authorize an active member of a municipal or volunteer fire department to use one red or combination red and white flashing auxiliary light mounted in the windshield or on the dashboard at the front of the vehicle or 2 flashing red or combination red and white auxiliary lights mounted on the front of the vehicle above the front bumper and below the hood and one red auxiliary light mounted in the rear window area. The light or lights may be displayed but may be used only while the member is en route to or at the scene of a fire or other emergency. A light mounted on the dashboard or in the windshield must be shielded so that the emitted light does not interfere with the operator's vision. The use of lights may be revoked at any time by the fire chief.

Every law enforcement officer I've dealt with over the years I've been doing this except for one, Doesn't have an issue with more lights as long as they're used legally and aren't blinding. But a HLF is further than what I feel comfortable pushing.. As of the first of the year I'll be jumping from Lieutenant to EMS Chief. So maybe then I'll add one but even then it's a grey area.

Got the Ion Duos mounted in the grille the other day, also got the Avenger Duos mounted for a trial right now. Pictures of those to come later on as it was way to dark to get a good picture.
