Hi everyone, so we just took delivery of our newest truck: A 2018 Mclellan Industries Western Star 4700 Custom Fire Line Water Tender. We have an older Whelen Liberty LFL (amber and white) with 12 Whelen 500 Series TIR surface mounts. The truck does have an Ecco Beacon (amber) in the rear drivers side as well. Any tips for installing, wiring all of these together, flash pattern preferences, or anything really would be greatly appreciated! This will be our first "Whelen" install so we are excited for how it will turn out!Western Star.jpg

Some tips for a rig that big.
4 lights in the grille flashing in an x pattern
4 to the rear flashing upper together, lower together
2 on driver side at fore/aft tank ends flash simultaneous. Mount about as high as the door handle. Same for pass side.

If you have bigger heads then use those. 500s are pretty small in comparison to a truck that big. Mount your rear heads as high and wide as you can. Last thing you want is motorists mistaking it for a half ton pickup at distance. Also think about work/scene lights on sides and rear for use during refilling ops.

Once you put the lfl on the roof... Move the beacon to the top of the tank rear...
