Some time back I noticed the my right alley light was stuck on. Disconnected the alley light leads to the switch box and it was still on. So I pulled the fuse to the controls and disconnected the right alley light wires. I finally put the fuse back in a few weeks ago. About a week or two ago I noticed the right alley light lens was brown / rusty looking. Had been thinking with all the rain & flooding in South central MO it got water in the light. Disgusted and bit confused I just blew it off but kept thinking, I never took the bulb out so why would the lens be "smoked" like that....it wasn't until this evening on my way home it occurred to me what happened. I came across a wreck and pulled off and lit up the bar. Ah Bach! The right end of the bar isn't working!!!! That is "smoke" on that alley lens....I guessing whatever caused the alley light to stay on finally had a melt down inside the bar... Poop! Good thing I have a car still I suppose!

I haven't taken the bar apart yet but I be willing to bet when I pull that alley light out just to look its going to stink like electrical melt down.

Sounds like you got some of those JDI bulbs...
Anyhow, track the circuit all the way from the bulb back to the switch, to check for signs of overheating. Signs may include brittle wiring, melted insulation, arc marks, & sleeving of the wire. Better to be safe than sorry, since those Galaxy bars aren't getting any newer :(
Best of luck to you
