Definitely not anywhere near as pretty (or as historic) as ADX ERIC6913 has, and I know some of you have already seen post on FB, but thought I’d post pics and videos here of ADX bar I picked up, since there aren’t many posted online.

Model ADX5273. Can’t say it’s the best looking or best executed bar out there - definitely a strange mix of old and new for sure - but glad to have it in collection for pure interest factor.

Pics below (sorry a couple upside down).

Have never seen anything from FedSig's brochures of a strobe version (or one in person).

Was this a program by FS to upgrade existing Aerodynic rotators to new technology?

Kinda... You have to remember that the Aerodynic has been around long enough to have multiple revisions.. Starting with the Gear Synched (22,24,25) the Aerotwin, the later independent rotator versions (AD and ADL) and then finally the ADX LED bars.

Wasn’t it more a way to have new technology while still maintaining a classic/traditional look... sort of a have your cake and eat it too? Though important to know it’s only traditional looking when the lights are off. Can’t say it keeps the classic look with lights on.

It's always been about emergency warning efficacy (and sales $$). The AeroDynic was the most aerodynamicly efficient rooftop warning light ever designed (save the JetSonic, but looks dorky on the roof of a truck) coupled with LED technology (that is undoubtedly the most effective automotive active lighting source since the invention of the parabolic sealed beam bulb) and you have and a very efficient warning system. IMHO, though, the Whelen Liberty and surface mount LEDs have made the aerodynamic lightbars inefficient and less desirable (strictly from an operational perspective).

As a collector, though, it is significant to have one of the last iterations of a great lightbar!

And the LED Jets are actually effective lightbars, unlike those equipped with rotators.

Here’s the JetSolaris I have. Multiple flash patterns can be selected via a “momentary” -12v wire. While I don’t have a Legend, based on pics I have seen of one, it appears the JetSolaris internals are quite similar to those that ended up in the Legend... i.e. board mounted leds w Solaris reflectors attached (as opposed to the Arjent style individual Solaris modules the ADX has).

Bar came with a center mounted Opticom emitter which I’ve removed. I plan to put a TCL in it’s place, just haven’t gotten to it yet. I know a TCL was an option, and obviously an Opticom was too, but don’t know what other options were available for the center. I’m assuming the JetSonic speaker wasn’t still available when the JetSolaris came out, though perhaps it could have theoretically been an option. Wouldn’t look bad and the bar certainly doesn’t suffer from the JetSonic visibility issues, but I’m thinking speakers had moved off bars by then. If anyone knows if an LED center option was available (whether just more colored leds, takedowns, or flashing white for clearing traffic), I’d be interested in pics if you have them. My only reluctance in adding a Meteor is that it adds moving parts to an otherwise static bar, which seems a bit of a step backwards. Do like Meteors though.

A couple pics below.

Also has alleys and front only option.
