A organization I am involved with is purchasing several used ambulances one of them has the older whelen 900 ambulance flashers unknown if they are strobe or halogen versions. Interested in switching them out for the new led versions. Both the red flashers and the white scene lights. I am assuming it is pretty much a disconnect old ones and connect new ones type situation? If not just what am I dealing with. I am new to these types of lights. But not new to lighting in general.

If your existing lightheads are strobes, you will need to remove the strobe power supply or supplies and install one or more flashers. You can select LED flashers or a halogen flashers, depending on your needs.

Strobe lightheads require three wires while LED lightheads require only two wires, so you will have one extra wire that will go unused.

Select steady-burn 900-series LED lightheads instead of the kind with the internal flasher as doing so will greatly simplify your retrofit.
