I have an opportunity to purchase a USMC M1009(80's Chevrolet K5 Blazer with the Diesel) to use as my new plow rig. 24/12v combination system...

Just wondering if anyone has done a job on one, and what kinda headaches im looking at...

I've done a M998 hmmwv. Go with LEDS, you can use one 12v leg and not wreck the batteries. If you want to keep it period correct go 24v lights. Roscommon equipment has multiple pdfs on using military equipment for civilian/fire service.

Biggest problem is pulling too much juice from one battery, under charging one and over charging the other. Alternators can't tell the difference.
