Good afternoon, for all wondering and to all who don’t know about them. B&M or known as Bayless and Miles Company is still manufacturing electromechanical sirens in Los Angeles. There are two manufactures left in the market that still make mechanical sirens. I believe Screaming Eagle is no longer around as parts haven’t been able to be ordered. Maybe I can find out some more information on here.
I am writing this to get the word out more. B&M has been around since 1913. We have been producing mostly only sirens throughout the history of the company. The Superchief is American made and is the loudest siren on the market past 100 feet. The sirens are completely rebuildable when the time comes and does not have to be replaced the motors are built in house with local parts. I see a lot of Q sirens out there although a decent product and I’m not against them just friendly reminding that there is other local businesses that are not corporations still out there that make decent products.
And remember
If it “Pierces the Air”
It must be a B&M siren
I have added some photos from production to show some current products
